These also are happening around cycle so not fun.

I had terrible migraines in peri and post menopause.
I always guessed it was related to hormones, since I had not been bit yet and I had all the symptoms of menopause.
I am sure others will pipe in with things that helped them. I just remember it was miserable and migraine meds helped but didn't totally get rid of the symptoms.
Sorry; dark room, ice pack, quiet. I hope you are able to do that.

If they are very frequent, you could try preventative meds, such as Topamax or Lamictal.
Bioidentical progesterone cream can help. You rub it in at night. Compounding pharmacies can make it for you, and a gyn. or alternative doc can prescribe.

i had these for months. i would just go lay down and cry sometimes they hurt so bad.
i had the flashing lights and everything. they called them "ocular migraines" and they were bad.
i went to a neurologist and had all kinds of tests. everything was normal as usual.
i ended up ordering something called "migrelief" and it helped alot.
they eventually went away but they do come come back periodically altho not as bad.

I had one today (still do). Mine center around my menstrual cycle since I was a teenager but I only get them periodically now.
Mine are triggered by lack of sleep, not enough hydration, stress, or strenuous exercise. I get ocular effects, so I always know when one is coming on.
I take 800mg ibuprofen, 2 extra strength tylenol, and drink a cup of cooled coffee immediately. It certainly doesn't prevent it, but that combination works the best for me so that I can get through the day.
