I have had stabbing pains on the sides of my neck for weeks now, everyday. It rotates sides, but is always there, along with right sided head pain. Anyone else experience this? I just started zithro yesterday. I cannot start my doxy until I can get my igenex tests.

Sounds like you have a muscle spazm someplace that's sending referred pain up your neck. The problem with these is the pain is comong from someplace other than when you feel it.
Since it's going up your neck, poke around with your knuckle (or have someone else do it), and see if you can find a spot that REALLY hurts when you poke it - it may feel like a lump under your skin.
The way to see if you found the spot causing the pain - press on it really hard, and see if the shooting pains/head pain stops.
I would check the top of your shoulders, and also the back of your skull.
If you find one (or more) of these spots, there are a few options for getting rid of them. They are typically caused by magnesium deficiency (which goes hand in hand with lyme).
You need to fix the spazm because they do NOT go away on their own. They cut off blood flow to the muscle, and they get worse and multiply.
I had trigger point injections of lidocaine injected into them to get rid of the 6 or 7 I had on the back of my skull. I had to do several sessions - both my LLMD and a Pain Mgt specialist did this.
Alternatively, you can try trigger point 'therapy' that you can do yourself, followed by lots of time on a heating pad. Just Google 'trigger point therapy workbook'.
You also will need to address the magnesium deficiency to prevent future spazms from occurring.
Hope this helps!
