In the Cowden Protocol, Cumanda starts and stays at 30 drops twice a day. Enula starts at 2 drops in the morning, then 4 drops in the afternoon, 6 drops the next morning, 8 drops the next afternoon, etc, etc, etc, until reaching 30 drops - then 30 drops twice a day.

My family takes Cumanda as part of our lyme protocol when we are reinfected. I would not start at 30 drops!!!!!! I would start at 2 drops and see if you herx. Then you can ramp up by two drops at a time to make sure you don't herx too much. Cumanda herxes can be really bad because it hits mostly bart and also can hit lyme.

We can get rid of bart in about 3 to 5 months if we take it with samento at the same time. Work up slowly with both to 30 drops. We also add burbur for detox. You can put them all in the same glass of water and drink it before meals twice daily.

Hope this helps!

tick battler,

I was trying 20 drops of each (Samento and Cumanda)twice a day and got intestinal problems.

I was happy with the results though. Things started going away that abx didnt seem to touch. Unfortunately I have to stop it though.

Did you have any intestinal issues? Maybe I got to 20 drops each too fast?

I am on day 123 of the Cowden Protocol and am making VERY good progress with my symptoms. I have followed the protocol EXACTLY, including taking the prescribed number of drops of each herb. I did have some nausea at about the 2 month point and my LLMD suggested taking Ginger capsules twice a day. That took care of the nausea.

I would start at 1 -2 drops in the beginning & slowly work it up from there. They are both quite strong & both are anti-parasite... This is why you may have intestinal issues - terv...(?)

Maybe I worked up too fast. I was on a 10 day abx break and found these herbs from my last llmd. I figured I had 10 days before starting back on abx to give these a try.

My last llmd didnt have me taking both at once. I was supposed to do 2 weeks one and then 2 weeks other.

Diagnosed in 2001, but probably had it since about 1989 or 1990. Was initially treated by a GP, many neurologists, neurology clinic, etc, and suffered for over 10 years before I finally found LymeNet and discovered that there was such a thing as a LLMD!
