This might get a bit gross...Sorry

I got up saturday with pretty bad diarrhea. It was all water basically. I most have gone to the bathroom about 10 times. I eat next to nothing that day. I vamitect that night but it was basically nothing sine I had not eaten anything. I also just fell tire and achy.

I thought it was a bug or something or maybe some parasite herbs I was taking but did not think it was the herbs since I have taken them before we no issues.

Sunday was a bit better only about five trips to the toylet but still all water...

Monday same as Sunday but today I have gone like 12 times.

The first 2 days I felt a bit of a fever but not the last 2. I have been taking probiotic but it has not help...even Imodium ad does nothing...

Could this be cliff? How can they test for it if the stool is all liquid

Thanks

If you are currently on high-dose antibiotics or were recently on such antibiotics, then C diff is a possibility.

If you are not on such meds, it is likely not C diff.

Usually the diarrhea with C diff has a horrible smell.

I suggest you go to WalMart and buy Forastor and start taking it twice per day. This is what the gastros have you take if it is C diff. That may be all you need to clear things up. I hope so.

If you are on antibiotics and you have C diff, you MUST stop your antibiotics and go on the antibiotics they give you for C diff. So, you may want to stop all antibiotics now to see if that clears it up.

I put up with C diff for about 9 days before I went to the doctor. Do not take Imodium. It will just keep the C diff in your gut. You want it out! Doctor will tell you that Imodium is a no-no if it is C diff.

If you get dehydrated or have a high fever (I did, but not all have a fever), you can go to the ER and give them a stool sample and they will test it for C diff that day. They will also rehydrate you while you wait (IV solution). This is an acceptable reason to go to the ER. My doctor sent me there. It gets you and answer and treatment (an Rx) that very day. Then, you have to get yourself to a gastro asap.

Otherwise, you must get a doctor's order for a C diff test, get the test kit from a lab, put in the stool sample, take it back to the lab, and wait 2 days for the answer. Of course, you can't leave the house, so you need someone else to make all the trips for you.

If you take the stool sample with you in a container to the ER, it must be refrigerated. If you let the sample sit out in room temperature, the ER will not take it.

My stool was not all liquid when I had C diff. I made as many trips to the bathroom as you describe. Each day was different. Lets hope you have some food poisoning type thing or an intestinal bug instead.

TF,

I am not on abx. I was taking something for parasites but abx. I am also taking vsl proboatic.

My pcd ordered a stool sample whe I complained that my BM where very inconsistent. I have not done it get because I could not do it at work and lack on preparation I guess. Now I could not do it at call cause it is mostly liquid.

It so happens I have a follow up with my GI for something unrelated so I will bring this up. I have no fever really. My belly make lots of notices though.

I had a similar experience. Turned out to be food poisoning.

There is also a stomach bug making the rounds.

But it's not a bad idea to test for c. diff to give you peace of mind.

Up, up, up the probiotics during this time. I also take pre-biotic arabinogalactan and sacch. boulardi.

I had a follow up with my GI that was schedule a while a go...good timing :-).

My diarrhea stopped this morning...I mean it was just gone...it lasted 2 days which is why I was worried so I guess it could either a bug or food poisoning.

We are still doing a full stool study.

I also has some lab work on Saturday...showed high liver marker and high calcium so I was asked to stop all supplements...

I was a bit worry at first but I remember that I was pretty sick on Sat...I had gone to the bathroom six times by 1 pm then they took my blood and had nothing to eat nor an water...nurse told me I looked dehydrated. When I looked at what can cause these things...dehydration was one for high calcium.

No sure what cause the liver issues...maybe the parasite herbs I was taking - no more...not without a doctor's help
