Like any of Us set backs are a no...no ///////////////////////////////////////////// /////////////////////////////////////////// original start of post..didn't want to start new similar post
Have really bad cough and wheezing, slight fever...Local doc gave Flovent 250. A disk you inhale.....

Flovent can ocassionally cause psych disturbances, Qvar is an older med (also inhaled steroid) and less risk of that type of side effect. Just something to consider, docs usually prescribe Flovent first but Qvar is just as good. Flovent is an inhaled steroid, so a tiny amount could go into the bloodstream, but I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you don't use the inhaled steroids you may end up on prednisone which would be less desirable. Do you have a nebulizer? My DD has asthma and I can usually avoid or reduce Qvar by using the neb with albuterol. Ellen is right if you are wheezing you have to use those meds, wheezing is not good. I would start the Flovent, see if you can switch to Qvar, and definitely get a nebulizer. Feel better.

thank you, yes wheezing, feel feverish , pain between shoulder bldes, well just below blade..
drinking water as much as can, the med is a disk with powder you suck into yourself ,quick/and hard is what I was told.
Steroids have caused so many extra problems in this journey....that it just spooks me a bit.
anybody have suggestion's to try ?

Is Flovent a nose spray?
I use Astepro which is a nasal spray that has no steroids.
I hope you feel better soon.

My LLMD said that the inhaled steroids in nose sprays were so small that they were okay. Also she said topical was okay too, just no pills or shots.

Nonna, please do not hesitate to use that inhaler. It is a better steroid than the older inhalers. The steroid just goes to the bronchospasm and then falls apart chemically so you don't get steroids in your bloodstream. There is a higher dose than the one you are taking and I take that. I am a lifelong asthmatic and inherited this tendency from both parents. It takes daily doses to help, so don't stop the meds thinking you are helping yourself. Take this until your doc says you can stop. This is really important if you are having major problems. For the uninitiated and non-medical, if you see the word steroids and then type something in like "NO, NO, NO!", I will reach through this computer and silence you. Nasal steroid sprays are for the sinuses, not for the body as a novel way to ingest something. Nonna is having problems breathing. So, sit on your hands if you feel the need to be critical and add your comments about steroids and lyme. As an emergency room stat asthma campaigner, I know this.

thank you...I think it went from Broncitis..to Mycroplasma ...
when I cough it's deep and hard, will last a long time.. Then I get it settled down for a bit and just have the pain front and back in that area..
My usual temp is around 96.5 ish. Has been for a few years since I got sick..I was 99.9 yesterday.
Last night sheets were drenched , hope that was a sign that my body is fighting it.
Head fills stuffed/full/pressure on ears ,all hurt,
Does anyone remember those warm air humidifiers?
I think Mom used to rub Vicks on chest.....and put the humidifier next to bed.

I am taking 3 antibiotics for Lyme - this is the 3rd month of treatment since diagnosis.
during second month, blood test showed postive mycoplasma pneumonia. My dr IMMEDIATELY added Biaxin to the rest of the antibiotics I'm taking and changed the pulsing of these meds.
Keep using your inhaler! Sometimes I have to use mine just to get the air I need!

Nonna, there are a couple of nasty bugs going
around and this may be just a current infection. I
had something at the end of January and then a cold
about 4 weeks ago.
Just food for thought.

Been a while and still not good.
added a ABX just yesterday....
Today ,after little or no sleep last night, I got to derm. appt, came home for mini nap .
I had a early afternoon doctor appt to check chest again and nose, ears also hurt.
Well I didn't make it,,I was dizzy ,breathless, coughing, woozy, spinning, feverish and kinda frozen in a ball.
I could barely ask to have call put into doc. to say I was to sick to get there.
I just felt toxic, It wasn't until 7 PM that I pulled out of it...Still feel rotten ,but not out of control, goofy, bad...
Others with this ?????????
OtterJ .. does it set you back with your fight for LD.
Lord I read my post,,,it's a wonder anybody can understand what I'm trying to say half of the time,
I'm trying and in some area's it's better,,,,but goodness sakes..forget phonics
What can help me feel better in general ,to not loose ground I've gained and can do on my own.
Thank you, Nonna
PS. total loss of time. This has been several days and it feels like one or two that I lost getting thing's done. (papers, bills, etc.)
I had everything lined up to pay and file and open.
I'm now back to square one..All a huge mess ,which stresses me a lot..

My breathing has improved greatly ! I attribute it to taking ivermectin every other day . It kills lung worm , and has been used for babs also in other countries.
I also take vitamin shoppe brand oregano capsules ( 3 at a time once or twice a day ) . Not oregano oil, but oregano . Look at iherb at Oregamax and read reviews . This is similar and cheaper . It really helps a lot , and has antioxidants and kills fungus.
Another drug that has helped me in the past was singulair for asthma - now is also generic .

Thought I was better,. Tried to do a couple of out of house things Sat.
Yesterday I couldn't move, slept most of a day and half , couldn't eat ,drink, body pain was horrible, fatigue, weak, barely mumble and broke another toilet, this time with a huge mess...
annxzz who is ordering the ivermectin...?
I started Oregano few weeks ago, how long before it helps?
I'll ask about it, even though I've never tested positive for this. parasites
If the myco is so bad, then maybe your doc should do IV on you instead of orals. It works faster and better then orals in my experience.
Singular is not a steroid. I believer that its a bronchiodilator taken orally.

I have taken ivermectin ( horse ) every other day for 15 mos. My breathing is greatly improved. When I switched to IVER/ PRAZI combo ( horse version) it was even better .
I rarely have to take meds at all now! If I have a bit of asthma I take some oregano capsules (3) from Vitamin Shoppe .
Another things to consider is that asthma and breathing problems can be a sign of FUNGAL organisms in lungs . I think that is why so many people posted that oregano helped with asthma and COPD at iherb . Read reviews at amazon and iherb . A lot of people said they got off inha;lers with Oregamax or the VS substitute , so that made me curious. It worked better than any asthma pill for me . (And of course we all are different ).
I do believe the iver helped me a lot . I take breaks and then go back to it . Inthe beginning the herx was startling . I figured I would have NO reaction. I also sense or suspect it may target babs as I found online articles in other countries like Africa using it for babesia .
Not being able to breathe is exhausting !

PS Singulair is a leukotriene antagonist that stops the whole allergic reaction with mast cells , I beleieve. Most other allergy meds did not help my asthma or allergies . Singulair was helpful in my case . But it was not generic for a long time and was expensive aand I suffered til ivermectin and oregano .

Hope this isn't setting me back with LD
Is there a histamine factor involved?
So I really try horsey stuff?
Appt LLMD tue.
It's just so frustrating and now reading all this other stuff about where it can hit,,
I'm on so many meds, will any testing work???
I know Babs is involved but fever etc. tell me more is going on
Of course doctor doesn't get fever when my norm is 96.7 usually.....

Lord, finally ,after ONE MONTH of being sick... I got the cough syrup that works on that Babs/Myco cough....
..only had to be sick on top of being sick,,that long ,,to get a doctor who either realized that It's the only one.or just got tired of me trying..
Anyway,,what a blessing,,only had one breathing attack last night ,instead of a few..
Really..There has to be somebody who's dealt with this a few or many times while being sick, moving to health and happy .
What Treatment/Prevention
When this month happened ,I realized , this whole thing started with this type of illness and was one of the only symptoms doctors would actually try to check out and not roll eyes.
