I am wondering what doses and protocols people have used that they have found helpful?
And also IM or subcutaneous?

I have done IM and Sub Q and do not notice a difference in how the B12 works so I just do Sub Q now.

I inject 10 mg a day. My brain won't work if I don't do them. I am much more alert and can think better.

I do them IM .. I think it's 1/2 CC .. I'll have to look. I was taking them twice a month and am now going to once a week.

1mg every week.

It's supposed to be IM, but I can't handle the long needles. I use insulin syringes and get the B12 injected into my arm...suspect most goes SQ, but my arms are so skinny not sure how much muscle there is in there...

It can be either IM or SQ. All LLMD's and pharmacists have told me this. Some people think IM works for them better other not. It is a personal preference.

I can't seem to get a good spot on my thigh for injections,,

I always get a bruise or it just hurts.

Don't know if it's because muscles aren't strong or what...

I use methlycobalamin also. Nonna, what length needle do you use in your leg? I find I don't need to use the whole length of the needle. If I go too far it spasms the muscle and hurts a lot more.

I used to be freaked out about going straight in on the top of my thigh, but that seems to be the least likely place for it to hurt for me.

You're too kind! [Wink] .. For me, injecting in my thigh hurts more than in the arm.

Ouchy!

use an allergy syringe with attached needles - shoot in the fatty hip tissue, 0.5 ml Daily!

mcGuff compounding can counsel you on the right dosage.
