Did a neurotransmitter test and it came back with very low PEA? Anyone else?

Yes, I did. I take the DLPA (DL-Phenylalanine) 2-3 times a day. Makes a big difference for me. Helps me with mood and energy. It supposedly helps your thyroid be healthier too.
We had my son tested. His PEA was sky high. So it is good that I did not just assume he would be low just because I was low. Amazing to me that within a family we could be so different.

Interesting. So the dl-phenylalanine works? I wonder what causes the imbalance.

What causes the imbalance? Infection, inflammation, stress, etc.

- As kgg points out . . . test first.
If low, it may be helpful to add it - very slowly ramping up to dose doctor thinks is correct for that individual. And it's good to have this in balance with other nutrients so it's not too much "excitement" all at once.
But, not everyone is low and if added when not needed this can be very excitatory. Unless testing suggests a deficiency, it's best to avoid this added to anything we eat or drink. Most generally get enough in the good diet proteins.
Here's why adding this can cause trouble for some:
