I'm three days into treatment. I'm taking the probiotics. What else should I be doing to detox?

Can I get a massage or would that be too much?

- Definitions can vary from one person to the next with "detox" (as the term "detox" can be basic support but some may also embark on harsh approaches that can futher stress or push the body).
So I just find the term "liver / kidney support" to be "kinder" so to speak. The focus is more on the liver & kidneys doing the work, on their terms, with our support.
LIVER & KIDNEY SUPPORT & and several HERXHEIMER support links, too.

- Masage can be excellent for so many reasons. Ask your area lyme support groups for referrals.
If not suggestions, otherwise find someone with experience with those with "CFS" chronic fatigue syndrome. As CFS can be caused by lyme, if a LMT has experience with those with that umbrella diagnosis, they should have more techinques that can work for someone with lyme, too.
All LMTs will talk to you first about your body's pain level, etc. and what kind of style might best work. Communication is always open if presure is too much, of course, just tell them.
Drink LOTS of water that day, lie low, for 24 hours afterward. Try to get them to come to you, if possible. Or after on in their office, try to find a park to rest for a little while before driving home. Take the scenic route home.
When I could get weekly massage, I did so much better is so many ways. -

I've started getting massages every 2 weeks. I think it's definitely helping me.
Lots and Lots of Bright & Dark Veggies (and a little fruit) will help "detox" too - in a variey of ways, mostly with their antioxidants but also with their fiber.
The body support posts below are very good. Safe exercise (or even only moderate "movement" if that's all one can do for a time) is essential to helping our body move out the waste:
EXERCISE INTOLERANCE is (partially) explained in the article: "when exercise doesn't work out" (and what we can do about that)
ADRENAL, CARDIAC, MITOCHONDRIA & MYELIN SUPPORT - that all helps movement better work for us
Styles discussed: Pilates; Qi Gong; Tai Chi; Yoga; water; strolling; etc. -

I enjoy my nightly epsom salt soaks, and my IR sauna. Both help me considerably with pain management.
I don't herx, so I can go peddle to the medal for both of those methods. Both these methods make me feel good.
Some folks, the detox is too fast and too much for them in an IR sauna or an Epsom soak. So be careful and try it cautiously. Start out with an epsom foot soak, or only a few minutes in the sauna and see how you feel after. Important to drink water while using either of those methods.
I find I drink about a litre of water or more when I do either of those methods. But that's just me-I use my body to guide me.
Sauna and epsom soaks are one of those things where baby steps are the best way to see if a new detox will make you feel good, or feel bad. So start out slowly.
My llnd recommended drinking lemon water.

WP, I agree. I am exhausted for about a day and half after 'gentle yoga' with more herxing though.
Pinella is good too, if you need brain cleanse too. Haven't tried gentle brushing, is that just a exfoliation brush?
