My LLMD and I like rotating my abx combo every 3-6 months due to my aggressive form of Bartonella and how fast it seems to build resistance (by the end of the 6th month the abxs are usually lsing their effectiveness and Bart symptoms creeping back)
So can you guys/gals help recommend some other abxs to me.
What I've taken in last 2 years Ceftin Omnicef Amoxicillin Doxycycline Zithromax Biaxin Bactrim DS Rifampin Flagyl Tindimax * Can't take Quinolones
What I am considering Minocycline Cedax (Horowitz book) Suprax (Horowitz book) Erythromycin (Buhner book)
I real need more ideas. I want to stick to Oral abxs.

I do herbals yes, and I can't take Quinolones so that rules out Levaquin and Cipro (I've tried them)

Cefdinir, it's not the same as ceftin. My doc has me doing it the days I don't do IM Rocephin.
Minocycline if you can handle the dizziness.

Mycobutin (Rifabutin) combined with Biaxin or Azith. Watch out for a BIG herx around day 8.

Canefan-cryptolepsis. I know it is for babs and strep mainly, but it TOTALLY helped knock down my bart symptoms.
Took the Achilles tendonitis and plantar fascitis (big bart issues) and reduced it to mildly sore feet in the am.
Also, when I was researching BLO's (bartonella like organisms) I came across clindamycin a few times.
Probably IV is best, for tissue saturation, but orals may be good also if you paired it with something else.

Judie - Cefdinir is Omnicef.
Greta - do you take crypto alone or in the woodland essence CSA formula?
And I was really hoping for some other abx ideas though I know my options are probably limited.
I've taken Mycobutin in the past and it didn't touch my Bart symptoms *shrugs*

canefan17 still around...thought you were cured! I haven thought that about myself a few times as well.
In my experience certain med combos have the most synergism with Doxycycline being the only med that will work as monotherapy for me.
1)Mycobutin/Ceftin/Minocycline...best combo ever. Saves money on meds and probiotics as only take this combo every second day due to long life of drug(s). After 3 weeks it is like I never had Lyme at all.
2)Ceftin/Biaxin. Feel pretty Pre-Lyme on this combo as well but can have to stay on recommended BID program (or close to) or start to slip.
U must take breaks from antibiotics. You know by now that pounding it doesn't work. Your immune system needs to see the infection every few weeks or month and you have to let yourself slip when life/work allows. Your body makes antibodies to Lyme if given a chance to see the infection.
Build your immunity and couple it with your meds to get your life in order. Plan for the cure when you are stable and mentally sharp and can earn money required.

Hi Canefan,
I used plain cryptolepsis for the first 2 giant bottles from woodland essence.
And I'm like you (aside from A-V), really crank up the herbal stuff. I used 4 dropperfuls 3 times a day of plain cryptolepsis.
Then they limited the bottle size of the crypto due to shortages, and I bought the CSA.
Then 3 giant bottles of the CSA. Same dose as with plain crypto.

My LLMD says he thinks there is a parasitical Component to Bart. In other words, they have had success with some patients who couldn't clear Bart when they started using some antiparasitics.
Makes sense to me. There are too many people saying that they can't rid Bart on Bart combos. So there must be something else going on.
After I tried a mycobutin and Biaxin combo with my old doc and got nowhere, he said there was something else making me ill.
