Hello new here. While my diagnosis of lyme+Bart is new I probably had it a long time maybe since 2005 when autoimmune diseases were diagnosed. I see a LLMD and an infectious disease doctor.
My primary symptoms are terrible burning electrical neuropathy Full body and depression and anxiety. Can barely get out of bed due to the pain The IV abx did nothing to help. Was on homeopaths and herbals that are biomedicine since the end of March. Not helping. Pain Meds don't work.
I know 2 people who went to American biological medicine center in AZ. They are fully recovered now. Tons of abx did not help them and I see on other message boards this is the case for most people with chronic infections.
The focus of the center is rebuilding immune system and organ function. My immune system actually tests slightly low with conventional testing. Hubby mom and sister all want me to go.
My concern is that they do not treat the infections until immune system and organ functioning can handle it and the treatments to detox done there during the stay are unconventional and there are skeptical reports to their effectiveness. Opinions please?

I think it's most important to heal the body. The strongest antibiotic you have is your own immune system. You can take drug after drug but it only mimicks what your own immune system should be doing.
I don't think it's a bad idea at all to make the body stronger then only use antibiotics as necessary.
I got off pharmaceuticals and did an alternative treatment myself.
That being said, I think you need to use your own instincts. Do what YOU feel YOUR body needs. No two of us are alike.

Some of us have strong immune systems, and the pain may be due to inflammation due to the immune system trying to kill off the disease. So a round of antibiotics may push the bugs back into remission.
Strengthening the immune system and not creating additional stresses may play a role in getting better.
It may also be that the disease is worsening (are your symptoms worsening?), and antibiotics may help kill the bugs off, depending on what you have.
This is why it's helpful to get with a tick-borne disease doc whom you trust.

I agree with both Judie and Shaz, in that, first, clindamycin antibiotics actually treated my infection and took symptoms down,
and second, if they are boosting the immune system, that is also a good way to go, in my opinion. Look at the results of those who went to India for stem cell injections that boosted their immune system - they are better now.
If you have tried everything, like you just described, maybe it is time to try the other route - ie strengthening your body and see how you do. It's an ongoing experiment to see what's going to work for us.
