Hello,

I read somewhere about how to avoid false negative on the culture test by getting the spirochetes into the blood...

something about taking antibiotics for a while and then of course not taking them for 4 weeks before testing.

does that sound familiar?

I have been searching for quite a while and can't find where I read it.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks!!!

I can't verify, nor do I have journal references, but... I think this happened to me. I've never had knee pain before the first day of taking doxycycline. after four week of doxycycline was finished, between six and ten days after, I broke out in hives, large surface areas of skin were inflamed, and all the lymph in my neck and base of skull became swollen, visible lumps. I got brain symptoms after that, for the first time. If going off doxy encouraged the bacteria to move and thrive, I do not recommend it.

You take antibiotics for 4 weeks, then go OFF of them for 10-14 days. Then test through Igenex Lab.

www.igenex.com Test #188 and 189 . . Western Blot

"Giving patients 4 weeks of antibiotics (usually tetracycline, 500 mg, 3 times a day), will convert a negative or equivocal Western blot to positive in about 36% of cases."
