I've been treating with orals for about 4 years with little progress.
I'm so sensitive and everything made me flare so badly I always had to stop to detox and clear things out.
I'm now starting my 3rd week of IV Rocephin for the 1st time and tolerating iv much better than the oral meds.
I never made it 3 weeks on any oral antibiotic without being so systemically ill (not due to gi symptoms) that I had to take many breaks and restart.
How is this even possible? IV is stronger.
I seem to have genetic detox issues so I don't metabolize meds easily. Do the iv meds bypass the normal metabolism process somehow?
Any ideas?

IV goes straight into the veins, bypassing the stomach and GI tract. That means that there is less GI impact, and as we know, disturbing the gut flora can cause all kinds of issues. That may explain it in your case.

Yes. I have learned how much disturbing the gut flora can cause problems. I, too, have recently switched to IV and am tolerating very well.
