Does anyone else experience pulsating in the neck? It is constant and appears to be around the thyroid area. I only just noticed this a few days ago. Either side of neck also feels tight like something is restricted.I feel like a frog. That's the only way I can describe it pulsating haha. It is very bizarre and i am a little concerned it is a heart issue. Thyroid tests are normal other than free t3/reverse t3 ratio being low. I am not sure what that even means honestly. Individual thyroid testing was fine

First thing that stands out is possibility of tight muscles, muscle spasms or strained posture.

While you sort this out, neck relaxation exercises and noting how your posture is in relation to good body mechanics can be helpful in figuring out the puzzle.

If tight muscles or spasms, magnesium often helps. It can also help the heart normalize rhythm and ease inflammation that could be involved.

Gentle massage, too. You may find this eases up, hopefully.

At your next appointment, ask your doctor about it and also ask for a good thyroid check . . . there is a certain way a doctor has to feel around the thyroid gland - and ask that they listen to your heart rhythm, too - and your carotid arteries on both sides of neck.

Carotid Artery

I'm hoping that the things you do now, though, will help ease it away. All the things suggested certainly have helped me many times along the way with similar experiences.

As for any irregularities with heart rhythm / pulsating of blood vessels - or muscle spasms, be sure you are not taking any kind of stimulants, either Rx or Over The Counter (OTC).

Also best to just say "no" to energy drinks, etc. as they can also pack a wallop. Just good to know that.

Check all supplements and assess diet (and anything that comes into our bodies for:

http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi/topic/1/113775?#000000

Topic: Amino Acid Information Link

See post: Caution: Aspartate; Glutamine; and Phenylalanine (3 excitatory amino acids that can be wrong for us when added as supplements, beyond a normal dietary level)

Seaweed has its own natural MSG and can be very excitatory

Back to inflammation as likely being connected, a gluten free diet often helps reduce inflammation all throughout the body. Also good to know. Gluten & Dairy, too, can cause a lot of inflammation. More detail here:

http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=3;t=029690;p=0

Excitotoxins - food additives that can be, well, like rocket fuel to us. Presence of these in one's body could cause all kind of problems, including accelerated heart rhythm / pulse.

Diary & Gluten detail here, too, regarding inflammation. Where there is inflammation, the blood vessels have to work harder and can "behave" in ways that are not great.

Hope some of the things here help.

A nice warm & cozy compress might also ease possible spasms in your neck.

Thank you so much for the feedback. Is this a common lyme symptom to your knowledge? I also started azithro and mepron recently
