I don't tolerate glutamine at all, so I haven't. Some of us with an allergy to MSG don't tolerate glutamine.

L-Glutamine can help heal the gut lining, however, it may be best to start with a very tiny dose like 1/8 teaspoon - but even that can be dangerous for some with lyme

for those with neurological issues, be very careful with only the lowest dose possible (if other things do not first work). First, though, if there are any other ways to address whatever it is that you want this for, do the other ways first.

Here's why it can be so dangerous for those with lyme: too much can damage our nerve cells because of the myelin sheath compromise lyme causes.

For those with anxiety-related adrenal exhaustion, glutamine can make it so much worse and just miserable.

It can also lower the seizure threshold severely. I found that out the hard way, over and over as it was not clear to me until I stumbled upon the articles in set below.

It can also make anxiety zoom to the moon. Same with tinnitus.

How? Below:

Topic: Amino Acid Information Link

See post: Caution: Aspartate; Glutamine; and Phenylalanine (3 excitatory amino acids that can be wrong for us when added as supplements, beyond a normal dietary level)

Seaweed has its own natural MSG (monosodium glutamate) and can be very excitatory

Gut issues:

consider h Pylori

consider side-effects of all Rx, OTC products as many can irritate or damage the gut lining.

gluten-free, dairy-free, GMO-free diet may be a great help as may avoiding all food additives. Avoid caffeine and fizzy drinks, even if just soda water.

what helps:

DGL, a special kind of licorice

slippery elm bark

marshmallow root

Thanks for this info!

btw, what do you think of Dr.Axe? I just heard of him recently, although the content on his websites look very helpful, I still feel him kind of a "know-it-all", so basically not very credible for the details of each issue? sorry about that..

Thanks Keebler. With nerve issues as well as anxiety, I think I'll steer clear. Was just curious if anyone has tried the product as it's always on my newsfeed.

Also , tried a new digestive enzyme for sensitive stomachs which has marshmallow root, ginger root and l-glutamine. It doesn't say how much of each though, just lists as a blend. I suspect very little as it hasn't made symptoms any worse.

Probably just the damn Lyme , as gut issues were what led me to my diagnosis many moons ago. So, can't blame it on the abx etc.
