I actually have two questions. Where is the best and least expensive place to buy powdered japanese knotweed? Also I am confused about cats claw. Is it better to take as tincture or capsule? Thanks.

i bought all that long ago on firstchinese.com, but I wonder if they are still in business. Buhner recommended that. High quality, low price.
Japanese knotweed, buy it in powder, for me it's much more tolerable.... I think buhner recommends powder and whole herb, for that specific plant (but I'm not totally sure, as I read the book about 10 years ago)

- The " least expensive" may not be he best quality. Be certain of safety and quality of source.
Be sure to get the books by Stephen Buhner, a LL master herbalist - the books offer so much detail that is vital foundation to understanding how to go about any of this.
and see his website - you can search there, too.
He has source suggestions and if you cross search Google your question, or herb, with his last name, you'll likely find the link to some question he's been asked about it.
If your search term is more than that one word, just put it in parentheses, such as:
"Cat's Claw" Buhner -
