Website link below.

It states they can get you to optimal health in 4 weeks.
They don't kill Lyme. Instead they concentrate on immune system. Of coarse, no prices are posted.

Has anyone ever heard of them or had experience with them?

Just reading through their website, I wouldn't trust them.

If there were a place that could achieve optimal health in 4 weeks, I think we'd hear a lot more about it.

I did a brief review and think the information lines up with my current thinking on what Lyme causes and how eventually to treat it. Several MDs that are treating Lyme now focusing on building the immune system, knocking down allergic reactions while removing toxins.

The one picture on the site of the chairs suggest lots of IV treatments and their discussion of symptoms and additional focus on the neuro symptoms may suggest NAD IV treatments which I am starting to hear more about once the infection starts to wind down. I think several Lymenet members have complained about getting rid of major Lyme symptoms but still having numerous neuro symptoms.

4 weeks sounds pretty fast but I would like to learn more about the protocol.

I recently did a Zyto to find out what I thought were the problems were and that my Lyme is not anywhere near my biggest issue. Near the top is parasites which I thought was the case but I needed additional confirmation.

If you find out more about the protocol, let me know.

All the Best, MattH

Bartender, I would recommend you find a Functional doc that has hundreds of Lyme patients and do these same protocols over a longer period of time.

One, it will be cheaper. Two, you will get better results over a longer period. Three, I don't buy it for one minute that someone can change our whole immune system function in 4 weeks. BS and I don't trust a Healing Institute that claims they can.

Have you made contact with a Lyme support group in your area? I would because I bet others in the group are doing Functional medicine treatments over the long haul. They could recommend someone trust worthy.

I guess, we need more info about which treatments they are doing...

If anyone knows, then we can judge...

With the little information there is in the lyme page there, I can't say anything.

It's also on my lyme of thinking that antibiotics and antimicrobials alone will never make most of chronic sufferers well again, and free of them.

but what do they do there, exactly?
That is the big question.

And forget about the 4 weeks.
No one can heal in 4 weeks.

You can improve in 4 weeks, but heal a chronic disease in 4 weeks?

First off, they lie if they state "they can get you to optimal health in 4 weeks."

It's a bold faced lie, promising such a quick cure as " optimal health" implies - and proves they are ignorant of the science of lyme, other tick borne infections.

Each infection MUST be fully - fully - understood in how it "works" scientifically. It does not sound at all like this is the case with this place.

Lyme tricks / flips the immune response, for one thing.

Infections must be directly addressed. There are various ways to do this but to just think support methods will work could be big trouble. Support is vital, indeed, but not as the sole approach.

When considering herbal / nutritional / adjunct methods, because lyme is so very complex & unique, as are possible coinfections:

if at all possible - because each person & each case is different - it's best to consult with an ILADS-educated LL ND (lyme literate naturopathic doctor) (or similar) who has completed four years of post-graduate medical education in the field of herbal and nutritional medicine -

- and someone who is current with ILADS' research & presentations, past and present, and has completed the ILADS Physician Training Program (see: www.ilads.org )

so they really know all they can about the science of lyme . . . how lyme (& other TBD) act and what we can do about that in various ways. Proper ASSESSMENT of not just lyme but coinfectoins is vital. Someone trained by ILADS is best to assess.

Many LL NDs incorporate antibiotics (depending upon the licensing laws in their state). Some LLMDs and LL NDs have good working relationships.

When possible, it's great to have both a LLMD and LL ND and even better when they have a long-standing professional relationship.

For those considering complementary support methods / or other avenues entirely:

http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php/topic/2/13964

How to find an ILADS-educated LL:

N.D. (Naturopathic Doctor);

L.Ac. (Acupuncturist);

D.Ay. (Doctor of Ayurvedic Medicine);

D.O.M. (Doctor of Oriental Medicine);

Herbal Safety considerations & reference books; etc.

BOOKS - Links to many articles and books by holistic-minded LL doctors of various degrees who all have this basic approach in common:

knowing which methods offer assertive & direct impact, which are only support and which are both. And when to use what, how to combine, & when to step back.

You can compare and contrast many approaches with links to articles, books, methods . . .

grandmacow, here is an old thread about DesBios:

http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi/topic/1/134388?#000013

You can find more threads on this topic by using the "Search" function. See Search near the top of the screen.

I typed in DesBios since that is what you called it, but if it is also called Desert Biologicals, you should try those words also. Then, you can see all that has been said on this subject over the years.

Cynthia .. You may want to remove your full name for privacy reasons. It's rather scary to think that your insurance company could be following you around.
