Mo:

Here's a site for you to read:
http://www.rcsb.org/pdb/molecules/pdb10_1.html
http://www.biomedcentral.com/news/20031021/01
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=pubmed&dopt=Abstract&list_uids=12685870

In Lupus research, since about 2001, there has been alot of research into the ANTIBODIES that are made AGAINST certain proteins that are manufactured by/within certain cells.

The molecular mass (weight) of proteins is measured in kilodaltons (kDa)..

In the last couple of years, they've indenified the 31 kDa (and 28 kDa) as the weight of proteins that the body makes an antibody against.

And they've found a high prevalence of this in Lupus.

So- I guess your Drs. are saying that Lupus and Lyme are now cross reactive (as 31kDa and 28 kDa USED to be specific for Lyme).

Will you ask them if taht's what they mean?
(I think so).
