You can check with the "yeast experts" here of which I am not one, but one thing that seems to be sort of okay to eat carb wise based on what I saw here is brown rice. Now that sounds boring, right? But folks with gluten/wheat intolerance have to deal with this all the time, so some groovy folks have invented pasta and other stuff made only of brown rice/rice bran (there is corn-based pasta too). I use stuff sold at www.glutenfree.com

different brands taste differently, and you'll have to decide what works best for you. this helps me with a few more things to eat though...

Hi all and a happy new year.

I have been off abx since end of April, supposed to start after new year. I lost 42 lbs, and have gained back 8 lbs (made up for all the sweets and carbs I couldn't eat last Christmas). Although I still maintain most of my good eating habits when on abx.

One recipe I make once a week, makes for 3 large meals. I have a good quality Chinese rice cooker. I finely dice onion (I used to saute lots of onion, but only realized after getting yeast infection in mouth and skin, that this caramlizes onion --> lots of sugar content then), lots of garlic, 2 carrots, 2 to 3 sticks of celery, a big handful of very thinly sliced spinach, dried chicken broth (vegetarian really), pepper, about 1/2 cup of good quality coconut milk and top up with water for correct amt of liquid, some good quality chili sauce (amt to your liking), I use 2 cups of brown rice, stir all this up and add to rice cooker. I bought on sale 2 for price of one frozen wild salmon filets with a little dill sauce on top. I lay 2 pieces on top of this and turn on ricer.

Man, this really tastes and smells good. You can also add other fish/cooked chicken/cooked - whatever you like. This way I get my vegies, protein and tastes good too. I try to have more vegies than rice, so takes some practice to know how much vegies to add.

Hope this helps. I will post soon another recipe I use. While taking bioxin and flagyl I lost my appetite completely which lasted for about 4 months even after stopping abx (can be a side effect of flagyl).

I even eat this for breakfast.

Take care

Corinne

I cant eat gluten and I agree bacon and other fatty food cant be healhy so I dont eat them. Most morning, for breakfast I have a large portion of organic frozen spinach, melt half a piece of rice cheese one it and cut up 1 boiled egg into it.

I have to keep my cooking real simple cuz I dont have the energy or enough thought power to think up anything complicated.

I scramble organic ground turkey up with different spices and then bag it into a flat 1 gal bag. You can break off any amt. you want and add it to the spinach for additional flavor or substitute it for the egg.

I only eat lean organic meats or 100% australian grass fed beef and no dairy at all. It kills me, which is just as good cuz I dont think all that fat is good for you.

I baks a whole chicken frequently and then bag it up into small portions so I can heat it up pdg with various frozen veggies or throw it into a salad.

egg beaters, microwaved
Armour brown and serve turkey sausage links
Wendy's chili, without crackers
sliced roast beef
poached fish, no condiments

Change that. I remembered Wendy's chili inaccurately. Wendy's chili is out/bad.

Morning,
I learned if you eliminate everything white; flour, sugar, potatoes, your body wil respond favorably.
Just a thought.
Blessings,

I keep whirred up fresh organic ginger and garlic in the freezer in a flat gallon bag, very thin, so you can break off how much you want.

Garlic is suppose to kill off stuff and ginger settles your tummy.

For an upset tummy make a tea of the ginger and fresh lemon.

One of my mainstay meals is various frozen organic veggies,no corn or carrots, and already cooked meat. Just heat them up and add the garlic and ginger at the very end so it thaws but doesnt cook.

I usually add sesamie oil and braggs amino acid for taste.
Salad dressing= garlic/ginger, fresh lyme or braggs apple cider vinegar you can add olie oil, fish oil or most often I mush up avacaco into it. Good for you and very esy on the tummy.

I buy the bagged organic spring mix but spend forever going over every piece individually just in case their might be a tiny bit of rot or mold on it.

I add one of my little bags of cooked meat to my salad but its usually the wild salmon that I stock my freezer with at the end of fall when it quits running. This year I bought 25# and that should more than last me for 3 to 4 serving per week. The dog loves te skin in her food

I also take a vegetable digestive enzyne everytime I eat something. The mulit purpose ones have bovine stuff in them and I dont know the source so dont want to take it.

I use to be able to eat rice but now any kind of grain/bean does me in and of course they feed yeast and since im on long term abx I dont want to give that a chance to get going.

Prevention is the best meds for yeast. I never feel like Im deprived I feel like Im protecting myself.

Large leafy organic greens make a nice sandwith holder in liew of bread.

Tuna (canned) is loaded with mercury. Be careful about fish on all levels because of toxicity. check sources of fish

I am able to get the wild salmon in my local supermarket from late spring to the fall. This year and last year it ran until early Nov. and they put it on sale often, usually every other week for 2.99#

They also carry Prime Reserve Australian 100% grass fed beef. Its not organic but I believe 100% grass fed from Australia is better than organic grain fed from the usa.

Call around to all your supermarkets and fish stores and find out who carried the wild salmon. It often called cohoe (sp?) or Silverbrite Salmon.

I cook 4# just for me under the broiler, so one side is a little crispy. Gives it a little nice texture, especially for salads. Then I individually bag it up and put it in the freezer. Better than canned

I did recently read, somewhere, that most canned salmon is wild salmon. I have no idea how you would check that out.

My motto for kitchen time is "one cooking must provide at least 4 meals"

I live alone and my energy allotment each day is minimal so I dont want to use it all up on cooking. Somedays its nice to be able to bathe too.

I second Twinkles question about fast food. I am such a non-cook I really need some simple meal ideas and for the most part all of your diets sound so very complicated to me. I live by myself and I can't cook all that stuff.

What I'd like are 2 easy to make ideas per meal for the non cook. If I have 2 meals to make for breakfast, lunch, and dinner I can just stick to that 2 day, 6 meal rotation.

Are chicken fingers horrible to eat? Any other fast food or easy ideas appreciated.

fast foods, the truth is there are no fast foods that are good for you but everyone has to make that decision for themselves.

When I had to close my business and became disabled I made the decision that Im alone and there wasnt anyone but me to do the best for myself I can do.

I want to be the best I can be and food is not a small part of that equasion.

Nothing I do is complicated, I just do it in bulk so I dont have to do it again for a long time.

Put a couple chickens in a pot or the oven cook and then sit down at the table and tear them apart and put them into baggies and in the freezer.

Open frozen veggies, dump in chicken and thats your meal. Not fancy, but good for you and you can do it even when real sick.

If you dont want to do the garlic and ginger stuff then dont. Just sprinkle any spice flavoring you want onto it.

It takes less time and effort than getting in the car and going for food. That I absolutely do not have to physical capacity to do often.
