I have a somewhat swollen wrist on the left palm side. After checking the internet, I think it is a ganglion.
It stated that there are many reasons why someone would get this, and Lyme disease is one of those.
They, apparently, are harmless, but look funny, and if I use my wrist too much, it hurts after a while. Supposedly, it will go away on its own, but I think I will have it checked anyway.
Just wondering if anyone has had anything similar, and if so, when did it go away, or did it cause any problem.

Yep..........mines on the left too. It comes and goes but if it causes problems you should have it checked.

Yup! got mine when I was 15 years old from galloping race horses. It is on my right. It is still there and as a matter of fact, really been hurting a lot lately. I am 46 years old now. Back when I was 15, my mother said that people use to put a book on top of them and crush them to get rid of them.

Yes, I had one large one on my left wrist years ago. The docotr shot cortisone into it, but it did not help. I had it removed surgically by an orthopedic surgeon. Turned out I had torn cartiledge in that wrist. That explained all the pain I was experiencing. Ended up in a cast for six weeks and my wrist froze up after removing the cast. Ended up in physical therapy five days a week for one hour a day for three long months. I guess you never know sometimes what is really going on until the surgeon takes a look. Best wishes.

I had one for a couple of months, several years ago. It hurt. Then someone told me an old home remedy. Smash it with a book! I'm not kidding. It worked. It disappeared and never came back. Don't be afraid to really whack it. Posts: 252 | From NJ USA | Registered: Mar 2004

Gee, I had no idea these were so common. I really don't know if that is what it is but sounds possible.
Strange, it just appeared. I was putting my watch on and noticed it. I remember my wrist hurting, but never thought anything more of it. Had it now for almost a week.
Thanks everyone for the input.
I won't be wacking it with a book, however! Hopefully, it plans on disappearing on it's own.

I had a golf ball sized lump on the outside of my left wrist several years ago. I didn't do anything to it, and it did go away rather quickly. I was on abx at the time.
