Hey everyone,

One of my symptoms that I am dealing with is severe cognitive impairments. I do stuff on my own to keep my brain in shape. But I find that I am having trouble dealing with the cognitive problems, especially when it comes to communicating and relationships.

I am thinking about going to a Rehabilitation center and getting help from a neuropsychologist or other professional that helps people with physical cognitive problems.

Have any of you tried this??

If so which rehab clinics would you recommend?

Thanks for your input.

Take Care,
blueocean

Hi Blue,

My neuro-psych Doctor suggested playing games which you can do on the computer. I spend quite a bit of time doing solitaire and am getting faster, sometimes. Can tell my good days vs bad by the speed PLUS accuracy. She also suggested crossword puzzles, etc.

ALso, get a balance ball and work on centering yourself. First with eyes open, then shut, then with only one foot on the ground, etc. Getting the body centered will do wonders for the brain as well. I also walk miles each day, just to keep the body active.

I try to get around small groups of people in the park, meeting on walks, etc. Just to try out my communication skills. I'm sure most think I'm slow or a bit flaky BUT, I guess I am! I am getting better at this.

STILL haven't answered your question. Blue, I don't think I could handle any classroom, organized discussion at this point. But it sure would be worth a try. Let us know how it goes.

I seem to remember TinCup posting some about this. You might do a search for more info.
