I would love to hear from those who have done it exactly the way it is prescribed (i.e..no sea salt etc..).

Anyone for any prolonged length of time?

Thanks!

Chris

Well, I'm in my 6th week on the salt/c because it seems the most gentle and least problematic thing you can possibly try.

It worked wonders for me so far - but the herxes on it are real real gnarly.

Wouldn't bother to dis something as innocuous as this without trying it first (unless you were really salt sensitive). Who knows?

KeyLimePie (love that name),

What kind of salt do you use? I don't think I could drink salt water, but I could take salt tablets.

Can you explain the protocol? Thanks.

Lymetoo,

Obviously my lyme brain is not functioning. Wonder how much salt you should take if you take body weight into account.

I'm not ready to try it yet, but it is in the back of my mind and Dr. C said to go ahead if I wanted as long as I had my blood pressure monitored.

Have a good day! Hiker

I use the CMC salt tablets that they say to use on the site.

I heard you're supposed to use about 1 gm salt per 15 lbs body weight.

You start low and go slow, just like everything else. (ie 1 gm of salt and c per day for the first week, 2 the second etc.. back down during a bad herx).

Herxes are waaay bad. But relief after is good. Sleep and anxiety better.

I guess people can run into problems with this as with everything else - but really, when you think about it - its pretty innocuous.

(Glad you liked the name!)

I understand there is lots of talk about Salt&C on this site:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/lymestrategies/

As far as I know, many people have had good results with salt, any kind. My doctor prefers to use a complete salt and ART tests the whole combination of it on his patients before he recommends the protocol. Some do not test well for it, some do. Many have great results.

Want to add here that Salt &C is just part of a number of other protocols, directed at parasites/worms, that is used.
www.neuraltherapy.com/articles/Lyme Disease: A look Beyond Antibiotics gives this doctor's version and reasons.

Take care.
