The night sweats got worse and then the GI cramping started and the horrible viral feeling.

I now have night sweats almost every night that come in monthly cycles or around that. I don't have a noticible fever, but have frequent headaches behind the eyes and twitching and intense leg and glut weakness. When I go to bed I wake up and I'm covered in sweat. The next morning my head itches and my chest has bite marks (also collarbone area). They look like two pronged bites but must have come from within the body and they itch. This winter I also had a rash that was itchy over my lower bowel/liver area (right of belly button).

I also have intense short spells of vertigo where the whole room goes sideways and also am spaced out often and have arthritis in the hips (am 39).

My LLMD is stumped and I don't know if this is Morgellons, Babs, or Bart.

No treatment yet but Minocin.

He wants to send me to an infectious disease Dr. again!

I am thinking of The Marshall Protocol as this is the only thing that might help me if I am chronic (which I am).

The itching and bites may not be morgellons but perhaps would respond to same tx that is used on parasites such as are used for babesia.

look at the article I just posted on co-infections and how they can cause chronic infection. You may have a number of infections that need treatment. Some of the treatments for one also treat others.

the Marshall Protocol does not address co-infections. (as far as i know from looking at it a year ago)

Please look at the ILADS guidelines for treating lyme and co-infections.

How long have you been treated? How much minocycline?

I too worried I had morgellons because I had a terrible itchy bite like rash for 2 years but no fibers or insects. Just a rash that at times took over my whole body.

I spent a few months on the Morgellons message board and met some great people and knew after awhile that it was not what I had but did learn A LOT about morgellons and how those poor people suffer.

I went to a good LLMD who suspected bartonella and lyme and in only 6 weeks on proper ABX for both I am 90% free of any rash. I had suffered with it for 2 years.

I would definately suspect bart. HOWEVER don't rely on testing because mine came back negative as did my sons. BUT we both responded to bart treatment.'

A medical intuitive said I had Parasites and needed 6 months of meds, but which?

the tests for babesia and bartonella are not as reliable as they need to be. There are many false negatives. there are so many strains of babesia and the titers are set so high for the cutoff, you may have these co-infections and still have negative test.

These, like lyme, are clinical diagnoses.
Did you doctor try you on meds for babesia to see how you react??

The night sweats was what alerted me to babesia but you could have bartonella as well or instead of.

The reason I emphasize babesia is that the treatment is VERY different from lyme treatment. babesia is a protazoa and anti-malarial type drugs in combo are used for it.

Progressively got sicker. Started back on amoxy in Nov through Dec.

A hot rash would appear from my neck over my right shoulder collarbone and over to my left collarbone. It would feel like I was flushing.

I switched to doxy in Jan and Jan through May05 had terrible sweats, herxpain, numbness and tingling, and then would have the flu-like episodes every 4.5 to 5 weeks.(sweats,dizzy, delirious (sp?), extreme nausea, couldn't lay down--didn't want to vomit the abx).

My llmd has mentioned I may be chronic also (from '96).

I am 42 and now suspect that this recent bout has taken advantage of my age and pushed me into a peri-menopause. I am always trying to take a logical objective view of what's going on with me.

I've also had the palpitations, and then I have cycles of motor skill jerkiness, shaky, etc.

Ear ringing and sinus infections in 2000-2002, vertigo from 2001-2004spring, then right into the severe, paralyzing back and arm pain and burning in arms to fingertips. Aaaggghhh!

Combo in May of doxy and zith has made a big improvement!

Your story sounds so similar to mine, have you tried a combo? Is this in consideration with your llmd? I requested a combo due to what everyone here states about symptoms of co-infections.

So these symptoms are with you on a regular basis and when did you start mino? how long have you been on it and what is the dosage?

I am 54 and have drenching night sweats with my hot flashes. And various other symptoms. I know it is hormonal. When I got a breakthrough period, the sweats stopped for awhile.

This is only one part of the collection of problems you mentioned, but since you said it was cyclical, I think hormones could be behind your sweats and flushes, at the very least. In addition to whatever else.

Also, hormone make everything much worse! Lyme, lupus, arthiritis, you name it- we females get much worse at the premenstrual part of our cycle, con't you think?
