The above was my first and only test with Igenex. My other tests were with Quest or a lab in Hamilton, NJ. Those were positive for ELISA on the first. Positive for 41 on another and positive for 31 on the third. I do not remember if they were IGG or IGM.
It seems like I am positive and should be treated for Lyme. If so, what drugs or other treatment options do you recommend? I am allergic to penicillin.

I take it you are not going to an LLMD? She is the one who interpreted my tests-showed I had lyme for a long time-well at least 2 years, not as long as quite a few folks on this site.
I am allergic to penicillin,too, and was prescribed Ceftin to begin treatment and a ton of supplements to boost immune system.

Most docs have favorite meds that they like to prescribe. Some people do better on some meds than others. It will take time to see what works for you.
Keep reading and learning all you can and be sure to make a list of any questions for your doc to take to your appointment.
In my opinion, nutritional supplements are just as important as the meds. They will help with symptom control and help the meds work better.
A good starting point is the list included with Dr B's 2005 guidelines -- included in the Newbie Links at the top of medical.
Good luck and let us know how you are doing once you start on meds.

If you are showing symptoms of co-infections, I would like to suggest being tested for co-infections when you have LYME western blots done. It isn''t cheap!! But if you are positive, you can treat the co-infections first, and then work on LYME symptoms.

I don't drive often at night, but I can wear NOIR's 901 lenses at night while driving; it creates soft candle lights coming at me...tolerable. NOT to wear in town with all the action of people crossing where they shouldn't be, etc.
