Gigi

Thanks for the post.

The two thousand people on http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/CFSFMExperimental/

Could do with your wisdom. I have been on it a couple of years and it is very friendly, you wont have the same problem last time I invited you onto a yahoo board!

You probably dont have at the moment but if anything changes....Dr K is mentioned there from time to time.

I know this board greatly appreciates your sage advice.

Sunny thoughts,
Wallace

Thanks Gigi and oxygenbabe.

My 20 year old just said he wanted to read articles to prove he needs to take probiotics daily. It was wonderful to be able to email these for him to read.

What are "fermented" foods? Might be a stupid question...

Cutie, if you go to the link -bodyecology- I gave on my first post above, and then click on
"raw cultured vegetables" - you will find out what fermented vegetables are. They are much like kosher pickles that are made without vinegar. They are tasty and most healthy, especially if you are taking antibiotics.

We eat them all year round. A tablespoon or two with every meal. The bodyecology site will also tell you about all the benefits.

Take care.

Gigi, I agree with Wallace, won't you come on to CFS-FM Experimental? Its the best group I've ever found. Pioneering stuff on there and some brilliant folks, and open to all strategies.

BTW, I use www.customprobiotics.com. Very strong. VSL#3 is supposed to be good too. And if you don't want to ferment your own sauerkraut, most healthfood stores have raw sauerkraut available now. Don't get store bought sauerkraut as it has been cooked subsequent to packaging and tho it tastes good it has no probiotics in it.

Also can recommend the book Nourishing Traditions for recipes for fermented veggies. Good health info there generally as well - soaking grains before using to make all of their nutrients available to your body, raw dairy, cultured dairy (kefir, yogurt, homemade cream cheese, etc.).

Thanks for the idea of raw sauerkraut at the health food store - I can't bring myself to go through all of the steps to make that at home.
