I have been recently having problems with what I believe is reflux. This is new to me so I am trying to figure it out. I have been pretty religiously using my Natural Calm Magnesium above anything else.

This morning reflux issue was not to bad, then I drank the Calm and there it was again. Could I be refluxing the Mag, and it is what is irritating everything. I have a sensation of heat all the way up. Sometimes I get a sensation of foam or bubbles coming up.

Hi,
I just tried that last night for the first time. I felt it was super acidic....my teeth were curling up.

However, my tummy is acid sensitive yet I did not have a stomach problem from it.

Which does not make sense, since I thought it would be basic in the stomach.

Maybe try another magnesium?

I may try it a few more times, but cautiously.

N.

Hi Jelly,
I tried it again last, but with more water, and the teeth did not seem to respond.

One positive thing I noticed was morning pH is within normal range.

How much are you taking per serving? The bottle says 3 teaspoons, but I only take 1 teaspoon at night.

Maybe try distributing your total daily amount into smaller portions ? I only take 1 tsp. because I take a basic mineral supplement + a vit/min supplement which adds to total daily amount).

1. You may have H. Pylori, the pathogen that causes stomach ulcers...ultimately.

2. Your body maybe trying to tell you something...it wants/needs a lot of stomach acids to breakdown food to "feed" the few remaining beneficial bacteria.

Before you jump to merely Prosilac or the others, IF it is H.Pylori...

Reduce the stomach acids via (1)Zantac and at the same time, chew 2 Pepto Bismol capsules at bedtime ONLY for one week ONLY. Bismuth is incredibly powerful. It is the COMBINATION that helps. First, stop the body from overproducing the acids and then send in the effective nutrient...bismuth.

Get your LLMD to say okay to this. My sister's LLMD gave her the "go-ahead".

Meanwhile, one hour before breakfast and one hour before lunch, take LOADING doses of beneficial bacteria with a full glass of water (stomach acids kill the good guys).

Then, be sure you maintain the beneficial bacteria!!!

Here's someone's viewpoint:

"Do You Need Surgery To Cure Your Heartburn?

I've written often about how worthless proton pump inhibitors (Prilosec and Nexium) and H2 blockers (Tagamet and Zantec) really are.

That certainly has nothing to do with any lack of effectiveness in handling chronic heartburn (also known as gastroesophogeal reflux disease or GERD), because they are.

Fact is, none of these drugs do anything to treat the cause of the problem.

Even worse, using these drugs creates an incredible reliance on them for continued pain relief (the proton pump inhibitors are particularly notorious for this).

With that in mind, you can imagine I wasn't at all surprised to read about the newest trend in "treating" GERD: Endoscopic reflux treatments.

Here's a list of the different varieties of endoscopic procedures available:

Stretta (approved by the FDA four years ago) uses radio-frequency current to scar and narrow the esophagus.

Gastric plication involves sewing together parts of the stomach lining.

Plicare, a procedure similar to gastric plication, uses deeper stomach sutures.

Enteryx involves injecting liquid polymers into the area where the esophagus joins with the stomach to bolster the sphincter.

Sounds a lot like laproscopic procedures used to "cure" GERD that I wrote about two years ago in which some 36 percent of patients developed new bowel symptoms after their surgeries.

Folks, you don't need surgery or drugs to "cure" your heartburn, particularly when safer, healthier and less expensive means are readily available to tame it.

Learn more about your body's unique metabolic type by taking my free online test now!

Drink adequate amounts of clean water.

Eliminate sugars and grains from your diet.

Eat one to two cloves of fresh, raw garlic per day to eradicate H. pylori, a factor for many with heartburn.

Thanks for all of your input. Just one more annoyance, and this is really annoying. I can't tell if the bubbles are coming down out of my sinuses or they are coming up from my stomach.

I will try the Pepto thing and hope that it isn't H. Pylori out of control. I just read somewhere that while H. Pylori can be respsonible for ulcers and the numbers are showing ulcers going down with treatment, stomach cancer is going UP. Thought was, that maybe H. Pylori helps to prevent cancer.

Wouldn't that be a Catch-22?

Why do PPI's make us dependent on them? I was taking Nexium for 2 months and then I stopped. Bam, within 2 or 3 days the heartburn was back again! Makes me sick!

Well you all know my problems with PPI's and I am STILL on them and worried that I will be slave forever but I am doing my best to come off of them.

As for the Mg Jelly. I personally can not tolerate the Calm. It makes my stomach so sick. I even had my dr muscle test me for it and I failed big time.

It is supposed to be an excellent form of Mg but if it isn't agreeing with you, then it may be time to switch to another brand.
