I am on doxy for lyme, total 8 weeks, and will add Omnicef next week. Also get Nystatin and Primal Defense to prevent yeast infection.

Questions: if you have yeast infection, how do you protect your family members? Spouse & child?

I will change my diet and prepare to do following

1. Avoid sex for 8 weeks

2. Shower and brush teeth in a seperate bathroom

3. Don't share food with others

4. Don't share towels and silverware with others

5. Wash clothes seperately

Are these good? overdo?

Welcome any inputs!

Thanks!

I think that is overkill...of course I would not share food, silverware and towels. As much to protect myself as well as others. If you don`t have an active vag. yeast infection you don`t need to worry about sex and your laundry. Normally you should not get one while on Nystatin. If you do, have a culture done in case it`s non-albicans and needs different meds. Soak your laundry before washing it and spray your shower with clorox. Better protect your airways when working with clorox. I forgot and did really hurt myself. I keep my toothbrush in Lysterine between uses.
