Hey Lynn--I've heard of some people who have, but I haven't tried it yet--it's on my list though! How are you taking it and how much of it are you taking?

Citrus, me too!

I only made it 3 days on Cumanda. I was only up to 3 drops, 3 x a day and I had a major heart incident - fainting, then tachydardia (170 bpm), constrictive feeling in forhead and chest.

I quit taking it, but I still feel like I'm going to have more heart issues. And I hadn't even had many palpiatations for quite awhile before the Cumanda incident.

Mind you, I had been taking Samento for about 8 months, 8 drops, 2 x a day, so I was a bit shocked at how strongly I reacted to the Cumanda. (It was heart issues that held me at a total of 16 drops a day on the Samento, too.)

Cumanda has done great things to control my yeast. I can't tell if I Lyme herxed on it or not, because I was on Omnicef and Zith when I started it.

But I am up to the full 40 drops twice a day now. I'm staying on it semi-permanently because I'm still on abx and need help controlling yeast.

I've been taking Cumanda for almost a year now, in alteration with Samento (Cowden Protocol). I had taken Samento for 2 yrs. prior to starting Cumanda.

I find the herx is different. With Samento, I herx within 2 hrs. of taking it. Cumanda sneaks up on me, with the herx starting on the 3rd day after I raise the dose, so I can get lulled into thinking I can tolerate a higher dose, only to come down hard.

With both herbs, I had to lower the dose and start up slowly again, many times. I did eventually reach full dosage of Cumanda.

Samento has caused more heart herxing for me than Cumanda does. I guess it depends on where your pathogens are hanging out.

I have never been able to reach full dosage of Samento, even after 3 years of herxing on it, except for right now. The reason I am able to tolerate 15 drops per day of Samento right now is that I had to have 3 cortisone shots recently for my back, and I am sure they are blocking the effects of Samento, so I am taking as much as I can until the cortisone wears off.

I also found that getting serious about detoxing the die-off was needed, in order to be able to raise my dosage of the herbs without major herx sx. I have to take at least 2 grams of chlorella and one digestive enzyme with each dose of herb.

Cortisone is a strong suppressor of the immune system. When on cortisone, you could tolerate more Samento, suggesting the "herx" you experienced previously might be an allergy to Samento. Allergy is the overreaction of the immune system.

I'm taking Cumanda, but not sure if I've really had a herx. The only thing I can call a herx so far is what happened to me yesterday with extreme vertigo and just feeling off and zombie-like and some shortness of breath.

I have no idea if this was a herx, though. I am only at 12 drops of it.

I'm up to 15 drops am & pm on my 3rd day because I felt nothing.

The only small indication is my Bart/anxiety/obsessive thoughts seem to be re-surfacing a bit.

However, I was on Zith & Rifampin for 4 mos so maybe that killed a lot of the Bart. I'm going to just keep ramping up until I feel SOMETHING!

My LLMD wants me to make it up to 100-120 drops daily...so if you don't hear from me again...lol.
