I read with interest here how Mg deficiencies can cause hearing problems and vertigo. while I never had vertigo, I have had imbalance issues. so I did some internet searches. My sx is not vertigo or hearing loss but imbalance which can be one of the sx. Other sx which I have and are listed as sx are Musclee twitches all over, muscle weakness, some fatigue, increased hairloss (I'm not bald). I betcha!! Now why can't any of the docs knowing my longterm sx have ordered something as simple as a Mg level. I know they are not relialbe in determining intracellular mag levles, but a low level would certainly confirm it!!
anyway, I did a search here and many people have different kinds of mg supplements they take. I see many forms of oral supplements are nnot very absorbable. Dr. B suggested in his protocols Mg-tab SR. Any one have any favorite that work for them and seen improvement on the supplements?? And how do you take them? thanks

re magtab SR I used it and found that it caused severe neurolgical symptoms. I confirmed this by starting and stopping several times.
No idea why. A few others have reported the same effect but in general peopel seem to have no ill effect.
Just remember that high doses can cause a calcium levels to change so don't go overboard with the stuff either.

I had Mag Tab and threw the whole bottle in the trash. It had titanium dioxide and a bunch of dyes, etc. if I remember correctly. I would get something more pure. Pure Encapsulations for example.

The other problem with them is that they are sustained release, which means that you will have mag released constantly. Most of the abx should be taken a minimum of 2 hrs away from any mag because of interference. Pretty hard to do with these.
