When I had a PICC line and was treated with IV Rocephin, I used a home health service (Apria Healthcare - they were GREAT!).
With each drug shipment, I received all supplies needed. Sometimes, if I didn't have something, the Home Health RN had it. Apria even supplied me with a Sharps Box.
All of this was covered by the Insurance Company as an entire package deal...for the 4 weeks, anyway.

I also used a home health service for my Picc line and supplies, and blood draws. My insurance covered the entire 6 1/2 months, but not without major letter writing on my part.

What do you do durning treatment. Can you work? Can you exercise (yeah like I have done that in a year). What can you do with the pic line inserted.

I have an agency out of Florida who supplies me with everything and bills the insurance company. I do not know the numbers...they are not listed on my insurance receipts either.
As for exercise, I was exercising with my PICC line until I got my last CD57 results. I would take one- two classes a week. I had a net stocking to wrap up the extension. It was fine. Wuth the low CD57, I figured I needed every ounce of energy for healing.

yourtroubl~ With my picc line in I did mild exercise, including mild weight lifting. That was OK'd by the nurse that put the line in. I did not swim, as it is not safe to get the picc line wet. I was too sick to hold any kind of full time job, but I was able to do some work at home for my husband. Showering was a pain...I would purchase a xerosock (I think that's the name) if I ever got another picc line. I used saran wrap and plastic bread bags with rubber bands to keep the line dry during the shower. It didn't always work.
