Here is the online schedule

I didn't see anything either, so I went to homepage for discover health and typed in Lyme Disease in Search.
It comes up with 43 different things on LD, and at the bottom of the page, there is a section for "See results in Television listings" and then it says there are no results found for: Lyme Disease.

I typed in Ring of Fire in the search and it came back with absolutely nothing.

[confused]

So maybe the listing on website is not current?
We will just have to all tune in and see what comes on!

It is the Discovery Health Channel, not the Discovery Channel. Looking up Lyme disease will not yield anything. That's why I listed the direct link. "Ring of Fire" is not listed, but it IS on tonight!
http://health.discovery.com/tvlistings/weekly.jsp?channel=DHC
"Mystery ER"

Look at your local listings!
It comes after the episode called "Bittersweet". The "Ring of Fire" is part 2 of "Bittersweet". It's all about Lyme disease, the struggle for a diagnosis and Dr. B is in it too. It's just the way the network wrote it up as "Bittersweet," so "ring of Fire" may not be shown on the front page but it is there. Its part 2 of that episode title. Like I said, it is likely at 10:30 pm EST. Tomorrow night at 6 pm EST.

There should be a mystery aspect to it, which was my reality for 10 years.

Enjoy! Mystery ER

Hi,

I went to your link but still don't see it. I saw Bittersweet and clicked on it. Nothing about Ring of FIre. I will watch Discovery Health tonight and hope it is on.

I hope it is truthful.

Thanks for finding it and posting!

Kayda,
It IS the Bittersweet episode...right after the first story...just keep watching. I talked to the producer just now and he told me my episode will air tonight for sure. My Lyme episode is called "Ring of Fire" but is not listed as such since the show is one hour long, and is a 2 -part show. Part 1 is called "Bittersweet" that is just how it is listed.

Just adding... check your local cable listings for the correct channel (Discovery Health Channel)

I hope it is truthful too!
[Smile] Thanks!

Hi,

I just saw Dr. Burrascano! This is it! They must have changed the title. It says, Awakening of the Beast!

This stupid Lyme really is a Beast! I saw the whole story about Awakening of the Beast and could hardly believe the parallels to my own story.

Isn't it something how previous drs. said she was cured of Lyme? And to think Dr. Burrascano prescribed 2 whole years of rest! I certainly know that downward spiral from healthiness to being unable to do anything.

It was a good show. Although she did test positive for lyme and coinfections so she lucked out.

Thats too bad that your cable was out, but it will be on again.

Im glad that discovery isnt afraid to show the true facts about lyme.

I agree. It was a good show. That poor girl had so many different things and was told so much. I don't know if I could have handled that myself.

I did notice that she tested positive for lyme and a bunch of other lyme related co-infections.

So she lucked up that way, but she had had it for so long so I guess it should have showed up.

That was crazy, everything she had to go threw. I am glad that Discovery is getting it out there. Hopefully, a lot of people watched it also and are now informed of it.

I wish that no one had to go threw what she did. Especially as long as she did. Obviously she had something wrong and the doctors should have realized that.

That really bothers me.

Well, what did everyone else think about it?

Thanks

Does anyone know how to download the story? I want to get it on DVD.

WIldCondor, This is a "spoiler warning." The story is below:

This is a story about a girl named Laura who was very healthy & active and loved the outdoors. One day she started to spiral downhill. Light bothered her tremendously, she was too tired to leave her room. Her parents said she was part of the family , but it was like she was removed.

She went to about 40 different drs. She was told she had everything under the sun. When she was told she had Epstein Barr, her dr. said she would have only 2 years to live. She went to the Dominican Republic to get a treatment for it. She got the treatment and landed in the ER with a 106 degree fever and seizures.. In the ER drs. diagnosed her with bacterial pneumonia and she was loaded up with antibiotics.

Drs. called the American Embassy. When she got better they flew her to NY. She saw a Dr. there who asked what she was doing in the Dominican Republic. She said she went for a treatment that wasn't offered in the U.S. He told her the severe reaction she had was not to the antibiotics. It was a HERX!

Her body couldn't handle all the toxins produced when the heavy load of antibiotics killed the bacterial.

Soon she saw Dr. Burrascano. He said she would need rest for 2 years. She would need anti-parasitic drugs and antibiotics in a certain sequence and certain amounts for the Lyme and her co-infections. Her co-infections included: Babesia, Erlichia, Epstein Bar & maybe a couple of others.

After getting a Hickman, and lots of rest she started to make progress until one day when she collapsed in the shower. She had sepsis and ended up in the ER once again. then Dr. Burrascano switched her to oral abx and injections. Injections were 2x a week. She started to make real progress. Now she is healthy and has pretty much regained her life. She even is married, now.

Her parents said Dr. Burrascano saved her life. Laura calls him her angel.

It was really good! Thanks again for giving us the heads up about this good show!!!!

HI Wildcondor [Smile]

Thanks so much for letting us know the show was on tonight. I am sorry you missed it. They do run re-runs alot so it shound air again. Here's my impressions about the show:

Hands down the very best show I have seen in prime time about lyme.

The Discovery health Channel should get some kind of award . It showed the many aspects of lyme and made it easy for the average person to understand the complications & devastation that is lyme.

Hopefully some people will see the show & maybe a light bulb will click with people out there struggling with the same disease and symptoms & don't even know it.

I was moved to tears over what the young woman had to suffer. Hit really close to home. But her courage & determination is a great inspiration to me. It clearly shows a strong will to keep fighting no matter what.

So I would give the show A+++ for airing this story. And for getting Dr. B on to talk so eloquently & clearly another A+++

And to the young woman who fought so hard to get back her life & was able to share this on US tv a big A+++++++++++++++++++++.

Blessings [Smile]
Dana

Thanks for the good reviews everyone!
Yes, it's driving me mad not being able to see it for myself! It was a brief version of my Lyme story. I just hope they portrayed Lyme properly! Please tell me they did!! Sounds like it! Dr. B and I were both interviewed exclusively, and I made sure there would be no mis-information! To quote the words I got from the Discovery channel producers "...people should think about Lyme differently after they see this." I hope so! It was 4 hours of interviews and a ton of tapes edited down to 1/2 hour show. Dr. Burrascano IS a hero! He is the one to thank! Not me! He is the HERO. If anything, we are both Lyme survivors showing the truth about Lyme disease to the world. Thanks all!

Yes, I was just doing a summary. There is no way to put into words all the suffering this poor girl went through or the many drs. she had to see before seeing Dr. B. and getting her life back.

I'm so glad Dr. B was portrayed in the show as kind, compassionate and extremely knowledgeable!

I'm so glad the truth is coming out! Thanks Laura! I know it took courage to tell your story. You are very courageous!

Lymetoo: Regarding the length of the program, I'm sure the producers did a lot of editing and there is much more to her story.. One time I was interviewed (not about Lyme) for over an hour. By the time all the editing was done it boiled down to 3 different 1 minutes clips. That was it!

I think the show was fantastic!!!Thanks Laura.

I really liked all the references to the mis diagnosis' and thought Dr. B. was great!!!

It should be a crime that even one of us have to go through all of this suffering to finally get an accurate dx. and treatment.

I think being told that you have two years to live due to EB should be punishable by jail time.

Great job, great information.

Oh, Wild Condor, I can't believe your cable went out and you had to miss this! Hope you can catch it today.

Do you supposed the regular Discovery Channel would run this program it if people wrote in and asked? Do they ever do that?

So many of us don't get the Health Discovery Channel. Dang, I have to think of somebody I know who might be able to tape it tonight.

I've just been slogging through the Discovery Health Channel schedule, and I can't find a trace of this program, either today or YESTERDAY, even.

All I find listed is that "Bittersweet" program.

Hey, I can't ask somebody to tape it for me if I can't figure out when it comes on.

How odd that they don't show both parts of the 1-hour show - what a ditzy schedule they have (online).

Well, now I can see about someone taping it - cool.

Thanks again -

Unfortunately I didn't get to see it. Hope to later.

I have a stupid question tho.

Is is good for this Dr. B to be so public about treating lyme? I thought all the doctors who treated lyme were supposedly "underground" and didn't want to be recognized because they would loose their license.

Sorry for hijacking this thread, but I was curious.

Thank you Wild Condor. I've been on this board since 2004 and figured out that was probably your story at the end. Very very well done...fantgastic job. You and Dr. B are heros.

My daughter who is 10 and has lyme that currently is in remission loved your story. She related to what you were saying 100% experiencing some of the same symptoms you had.

I was disappointed that they didn't talk to you more during the story. Your parents were interviewed quite frequently during the episode.

Thank you again for sharing such a powerful story!

Had my husband watch it with me last night. Great story, well done.

Talk about second (third/fourth) chances! It looks like our friend isn't done here on planet earth yet, 'cause she had plenty of chances to take the exit. Wow.

And I hope and pray many, many people with 'mystery symptoms' are inspired to keep looking for answers until they get healed!

Truly there are some people who are here for a purpose. God and his angels watch out for them.

You are truly blessed and a blessing to all of us here.

I would not have had your courage and stamina to make it.

I hope you continue helping others and steering us in the right direction.

I also felt like i was watching myself...not knowing what was wrong, alone all the time in my room...doc after doc test after test. My cousin even recently suggeted i visit Mexico for some miracle treatment.

Anyways I was suprised it was pretty good.
Although...i think its impt when you are talking about a disease like lyme that is so complex you discuss (at least at the end) how there are sooo many symptoms and not everyone is alike and some it can effect psychologically blah blah blah so that people watching know that its not JUST the symptoms that the girl on the show has that would indicate lyme.

My dad was watching the show w/ me and said...Hmmm, you dont have the sun sensitivity. Assuming everyone w/ lyme has that. So its good for people to know how different our symptoms can sometimes be...but we still have it..and may also have different co-infections too.

I remember a year ago researching what was wrong w/ me and reading the symptoms of lyme but i never bothered to read the LATE stage symptoms. So i didnt think i had it. But..i actually do.

It was nice hearing about the coinfections on the show....everything sounded so familiar to me.
Im glad she got better. Im greatful they did the show.

Hi Kayda,

Nope, no idea! Some places list it like that, it was originally called "Ring of Fire"
I refer to Lyme as my beast that was awake, and I put it to sleep, so thats where they got it from. Funny!

Re: FROM DR B Re: mmi ANNOUNCEMENT: "Mystery ER" TODAY TV Lyme
DiseasesConcerning the Mystery ER program, "Ring of Fire" on Lyme diseaseS.

I spoke with a representative of their STORE and I have a contact to call
tomorrow.

The store for the parent company of the channels (plural) says they do not
carry videos or DVDs of this particular show, meaning Mystery ER in general,
not the specific program "Ring of Fire."

However the representative said if enough people call to ask, that they may
consider making it available. I expressed my appreciation, thanks, and
gratitude for the accuracy.

I will be calling tomorrow after 9 AM Eastern DAYLIGHT Time to ask for
Viewer Relations and then expressing my compliments and asking them to make
the show publicly available on DVD/CD and Video for sale.

If you would wish to express the same, call
1-800-938-0333 and ask for VIEWER RELATIONS, according to the representative
I spoke to.

Hi All,

I just spoke with a rep at Discovery Health She said that the episodes change names?! That it will air as the second portion of "Burning Love" and that it will air on March 24th, 2007 at 6:00pm EST.

She discribed the episode about a boy who goes to the ER with vomiting and an unknown rash...

I can not pomise that this is going to be the episode. But if any of you copies it I will buy a copy from you. I will be in Texas for a conference grrrrrr!

Let me know if this is the episode or not?
