My doc has ONCE AGAIN pulled my meds. he just says i react to so much and it makes me sicker.

right now i am having severe stomach pain. well at least i am calling it stomach pain.

it's right under my left rib. as soon as i eat, bam, i get sharp stabbing pains in this area.

i can't lay on my left side because of the pain and i can't lay on my right side. the pain goes through to my back. it starts at the top of my shoulder blades and goes all down into my behind it hurts so bad.

i am not vomiting, but i do have what i call diahrrea. i have it about an hour after eating and then really soft mushy stools antoher 2-3 times a day.

the antibiotics make it much worse, the diahrrea.

i'm at wit's end. i need to loose weight but, dang, i don't want to do it by not eating.

all i can tolerate is liquids right now.

is this lyme? this sharp stabbing pain just doubles me over.

Have you ever gone on a rotation diet to find out if you have food allergies?

I used to get bad stomach pain and diarrhea from gluten.

I still have frequent diarrhea, and my doctor's tested me for everything under the sun ... I think some of it, at least in my case, is from the Lyme.

We haven't slowed down on the meds because it was the same before I started them. The meds don't make it any worse.

You said you cant lay on your right side either

I am assuming it is because of pain and that the pain radiates up towards the shoulder....

this is just my suggestion as a lyme patient...

but have you had your gallbladder checked...

gallbladder pain can raidate and gallbladder attacks hurt like heck.... I believe if there is gallbladder problems you can also get diahera

Do you eat alot of fat in your diet... if this was the problem .... eating alot of fat would make it worse.

If it hasnt been checked maybe you could ask your dr about it.

best wishes

I have the same problem. But, I don't know what it is. I just haven't been eating the same as usual and I am not eating near as much as I did before. Which could be a good thing weight wise, but still. I just thought it could be related to IBS or something.

get food allergy testing done for gluten intolerance/celiac disease and case-in...dairy products.

i believe it was MERIDIAN LAB that did 96 food tests on my blood. good luck.

I've had all kinds of stomach pain ranging from dull aches to "I'm gonna die laying here on the floor" pain.

I've had sooooo many GI tests done. The only thing the doc found was delayed stomach emptying which was causing nausea and some mild to moderate pain from inflammation.

It's still a mystery as to why I continue to get severe stomach pain. But if it helps any, I've been on abx treatment for 3 months, and it has eased up considerably.

Hi,
You have described very much what I went through.

I had horrible stomach/intestinal pain after diseemination and could not eat anything and dropped weight rapidly.

I though I had candida (even though I was on a very storng and excellent probioitic 35 billion cfu/enteric coated 14 strains) I swore up and down it was Candida, I was wrong.

My LLMD said, "No, H.pylori is common with LD and the tests (you guessed it) are unreliable". He treated me with Amxoi/Biaxin/Nexium and within a month my stomach felt perfect. I am now able to eat pretty much anything and my stomach is the only thing that doesn't hurt now.

Ask you LLMD about the possibility and ask him to treat you for it since testing is unrelialbe, it can't hurt. Plus the 2 abx are great LD killers and Biaxin is showing to kill Bart and HME and possibbly HGE as well.

Good luck ~

Have you had a full GI workup? I would get an ultrasound of the abdomen and at least do a stool test for c.difficile toxins.

Is doxy one of your meds? It is giving my stomach a fit. Have you checked the side effects of your meds?

Also, food allergies and gluten intolerance (celiac disease) can cause these symptoms. I didn't know the HP Ulcer was connected to lyme, but I have had two bouts with it. It usually gives me heartburn and a gnawing feeling in my gut.

Find a good doctor to help you sort through this.

How long has this been going on?

I had an acute episode of pain like this--I don't know what caused it, but I decided it was my SPLEEN. The appendix and gall bladder are on the other side, and this was most definately on my left side, right below my rib cage.

I decided it was an immune response of some kind. It happened while I was on vacation and I had to fly home (four hour plane trip) in agony, and then drive myself home from the airport.

It lasted about 36 hours.

Could this be from stopping your antibiotics? Perhaps your lymphatic system dumped too much into your spleen, and it can't filter it all out.

I don't know if this is true, but mine went away. I didn't eat anything for two days. It was pretty alarming.

i had my gallbladder out many years ago, so no, it's not that.

yep, the pain is right under the LEFT rib and goes to my side. It keeps me awake at night. seems to be slightly worse after eating.

I've told my doctor and that idiot said, "well theres nothing on that side." can you believe that? even i, and i am not even close to doc, know that your pancreas and spleen are on your left side.

i cannot believe the stupidity of some doctors.
