I hope somebody else on here is experiencing this - not really, but you know what I mean. And if not, can you all pay attention and then let me know?

I swear I have something going on in my jaw and my lower gums (especially) - upper gums were bothering me more last year. I actually lost gum tissue, and I had beautiful teeth and gums until maybe a year or two ago. I forget now.

But when I sit at this computer, my gums really start to bother me. What's really freaking me out though - and I don't know enough about computers to even know if you will know what I mean, but -

When my computer reads 'website found - waiting for' or 'website found - searching for' - especially if there is some delay because my computer or the website locks up, my symptoms increase and do not abate until the website is either found or I cancel it.

Specifically, my anxiety level, breathing difficulties, gum discomfort go way up.

I'm pretty convinced it's electromagnetic fields - I even got rid of my cordless phone for this reason.

I'm just curious if this happens to anyone else. I know our brains are essentially computers. I have to wonder if AOL is searching for websites in my head though, too. I'm actually half serious - maybe even all the way serious.

Please let somebody else on here be feeling this, too!

First of all, are you on a wired or wireless internet connection on that particular computer?

Next, computers and such typically put out semi-consistent amount of EMFs (low) nomatter what they're doing. Searching for a website wouldn't increase the strength of the electromagnetic field. I would suggest looking to other causes of your symptoms.

When you're searching for a website, does your web browser have a blank, white screen? This is irritating to many people's eyes regardless of lyme, and maybe that irritation causes you to feel worse over all, which prompts your other symptoms? I'm just tossing things off the top of my head here, really.

However, especially if you are on a wired internet connection, I know there is no spike in EMF searching for a website. Even wireless internet, which runs on the 2.4ghz band generally, has a rather constant wave profile.

I've often wondered about this. And have heard other Lyme folks talk about EMF. Doesn't RIFE have to do with altering the electro-magnetic fields?

A man came to one of our groups and talked about how you can get devices to clear or diffuse the EMF pollution we have in our homes.

There is something to this. Remember the ranchers and folks whose livestock and homes were
located near high-voltage power line towers and their livestock had tons of miscarriages/stillbirths etc? I think eventually the government had to admit that we are susceptible to electrical waves and those people were somehow compensated. Let's hope they were able to move!

Alot of people with lyme have teeth trouble spirochetes are effecting the nerve fibers and there are many in your face. My wife new she was getting her herx by her teeth hurting top & bottom on her.
I never had that after all the years of tretment untill after I treated babsiosis mepron , the next herx after being off mepron my teeth were so so jumpy sore & even room tempeture water made them go nuts. Couldnt chew anything for a while it hurt.

I got herxes on my jaws too, under a canal root treated tooth.

EMFs affect me for sure, and my computer is number one. I get chest symptoms stronger (while herxing) and specially chills FOR SURE after more than an hour in front of this computer. I've been observing this since November last year, and this is very true in my case, it will ALWAYS happen.

As for jaw pain, you could also get cavitations. That was my case. When the teeth were extracted, showed pockets of infections in both teeth. The surgeon scooped the stuff off, I felt the pain even with anesthestics, the same pain I've been having for years (dull pain, but certainly present, specially during herxes, but not only).

The pain is TOTALLY GONE after teeth removal + removal of 'cavitations'. And it's been only a month after surgery.

In the other tooth, I never have had pain, and so it remains despite infection under the root(visible) and cavitation.

Jaw and teeth pain are also part of babesia for me.

The Lyme may make your system more sensitive to EMF's just like it heightens some peoples

Reactions to chemicals, smells and tastes.

Maybe that is the correlation here.

Just hypothesizing.

There will not be an increase in EMF's from your computer in this case. What is happening is that your computer has sent out a signal over the network card or modem and is waiting for a response. If no response in a certain amount of time, it will send another signal. My guess is that stress is making your feel worse.

Most of the EMF's from your computer come from the monitor. Sit 2 ft away from it in order to minimize exposure. Do you notice a big increase in symptoms while using a hair dryer or electric can opener? They are both very high EMF producers although if you have a heat intolerance you may feel bad using the hair dryer because of that.

I'm not saying that EMF's are not a problem for you but they would not be causing the problem of increased symptoms while you are waiting for your browser to find a site.

I HAD this, it was babesia. I think I told you this, I had SEVERE anxiety from looking at a TV, the computer, I felt insane, the brain, and I got asthma, pain in the body, left side numbness.

I COULD not watch TV for more then 1 minute and this became better from treating the babesia with the clindamycin and quinine.

it is not the electromagnetics you need to treat it is one of these infections I feel, that is what worked for me, so if I were you, and you have not treated the babesia, treat it, and see what happens.

I still need to treat the lyme, and possibly the babesia again, but my EMF are MUCH better, and you do not have to live like this.

I dont know if you have treated the tick infections with antibiotics, I think I PM you and told you what I did to help this, and get rid of it. I watched TV for 3 hours and am fine,

I could not watch TV for more then 1 minute before treating babesia, I now am on the computer and am much better.

I had what you have, and got rid of most of it, if not all of it sometimes, it was babesia for me, and then to treat the lyme or other tick infections.

So, I hope that you try this what I did, you said you had not treated babesia,

PS, it also could be the light, from the computer, I became sick from light and EMF within 2-3 weeks of each other, I had NEVER had EMF or light sensitivity before,

I had also never treated babesia, only lyme,
WHen I went outside in the light, I had severe, severe,

SEVERE anxiety and heart racing, I cannot stress enough how bad the anxiety was from EMF and light, also breathing problems, the throat and sinus swelled in the light, what a bizarre thing eh??

try telling this to my GP, he thought I was nuts,
I had the LLLMD help me with this, here I am it is better, still treating too,

[Smile]

Hi,
This is a question I was wondering myself awhile back, after noticing electric blankets seemed to set off my pain, my laptop would increase nerve pain.

When I asked my LLMD his opinion was just that the heat of these item were irritating my nerves.

I have done some light study of EMF's and really can't find anything good about them that is for sure. You can google the subject and read all day.

Here is one "take" on EMF's: http://www.shareguide.com/radiation.html

Take care.

I tend to agree with those of you who DO believe EMFs from the computer cause an increase in jaw/gum/tooth pain, palpitations, breathlessness, anxiety, etc...when the program is 'searching' or 'waiting' for a website.

I can actually close my eyes and feel this (so it isn't the light from the screen), even if I'm unaware in advance that a certain website takes longer to load. The computer's buzz bothers me, too - it's irritating.

If the computer is having trouble finding the website and has to keep putting out another signal, since my brain is electrical, how couldn't it be affected?

I think what technology has done to human health is dangerous, quite frankly. I even wonder if the frequencies being given off by such devices as computers and cell phones blind us to what is really happening to life as we know it.

Someone on here asked what the screen does when I feel that way. The screen is white and the tiny bar that goes along the bottom and reads 'searching for' or 'waiting for a response' barely crawls or just stops completely in the middle.

My head cannot stand this for some reason, and sometimes I have to walk into another room until it finishes loading.

I did go to that website on EMFs, and I not only think technological advances (EMFs everywhere) are part of my Lyme or babesia problem (I DO believe I have babesia), but I think these electromagnetic fields could very possibly be THE problem.

Any of you read 'Cross Currents' by Robert Becker? He says there are studies out there which indicate these dangerous EMFs are the reason why these bugs and toxins are able to cross the blood-brain barrier in the first place.

I don't know how sick the rest of you are, but I know I don't want to live like this the rest of my life - I'm ready for cell phones, wireless, ALL human-made electrical devices to be shut off.

Even if I am lucky enough to find a doc willing to treat my babesia that has yet to turn positive, chances are it is just like Lyme - I will always be battling it - and on and off antibiotics for it.

All so we can spend our lives sitting in front of machines and texting our family and friends so we don't have to get up and go see them? I don't think so.

I read that Stetzer filters help, but only if the fields in your home, for instance, are within a certain range. Otherwise, they are useless.

FAR too many people are healthy and fine with EMF's. This is what we have to deal with to live, and others do it, so can we, get rid of lyme and tick infectinos, and then we can, so far I have found this, so this is based on proof.

Once you treat the lyme and other tick infections you will then know how bad these infections are.

I do not believe that you can blame the CAUSE of lyme on EMF because far too many are well and around EMF.

All it takes is to look at ALL the people out there that are fine with EMF and you can base it on this.

Treat, and see the difference.
As well, I believe that you can feel the computer like you say you do, or the EMF that is is putting out. I could feel the light, and EMF everywhere, I had to hide under the blanket in my dark room with no EMF, or near me, and wonder if that day I was going to take my life
from living like that,

it was horrid, so I know, it drives one insane, so the sooner you can treat, the better you will be, especially if you have heard others on here that have your EMF problem and are better.

ME, I am one of them, look no further.

and I spoke to a man that was like you. I may have been like you too, I do know that I felt everything

when I became EMF sensitive overnight. It was hell, and it can be treated, just keep perservering.

Also, I was treated for babesia with a NEGATIVE babesia microti test, I had to start off with 1/3 cap of each medication for babesai and work up. I also had to treat lyme after this,

ALSO, if you are not on antibiotics and are not dead, then if I were you, I would treat with herbals or whatever else, this can help some
if you cannot get antibiotics now, do herbals

You do NOT have to live like this, you have this board, and this is what you need, because others got better that had what you had,

keep perservering, and find a LLMD if you can, and if not, then someone else, Just the fact that you found others with your symptoms,

you can print it out, and keep trying to locate a LLMD or other DR to treat you,

Hope you can, you dont have to live like this, I mean if I had live with EMF sensitive the rest of my life like i had it, I would take my life,, that is how bad it was, deadly to my sanity.

I don't think far too many people are healthy though. I look back at my parents when they were my age (I'm 42). Neither of them were on any meds or ever saw the doctor, except for my dad who was on medications 'for his nerves' - whatever that means.

Disease in general is on the rise. More and more kids are coming down with ADHD or other mental health problems, have weight problems, allergy problems, etc...

Adults my age are becoming chronically ill much sooner, as if they were 60 or 70 already.

Heart disease and diabetes is on the rise. Cancer in all forms is on the rise. More and more couples have trouble conceiving. Pretty much everybody knows someone who has been on steroids at some point for something autoimmune.

I just don't think manmade EMFs affect only some of us - or even just those of us with babesia, though I DO believe I have that, like you say. I believe we ALL are affected by manmade EMFs. Even the disappearing honeybees. Just some of us are more aware of the effects of EMFs than others. In some ways I'm glad I react to EMFs - I want to know if I am being radiated to death - how else would I know to get away from them?

I have to wonder now, in retrospect, if back in 1990 when I was first put on anti-anxiety meds - if I was reacting mentally to EMFs, and just not as much physically to them - yet, at least.

I just think if EMFs make sick people sicker, most likely they are responsible for making healthy people sick to begin with.

Also, how many of us have actually any hope of being cured of any of these bugs? We all suffer relapses. Robert Becker says studies show that EMFs are responsible for causing these bugs to cross the blood-brain barrier, and unless we turn off the EMFs that are causing them to be there, no chemical will ever be able to eradicate these bugs completely.

The bugs are confused with all these EMFs.

As for treating my babs herbally, I have tried everything. I may try tonic water next, even though I have a corn allergy. I really need to find a doctor who will treat this even though I do not test positive, but you know how that goes. It's scary.

I also wonder if this Lyme epidemic is a test of sorts. I read that Clinton had apologized at some point on behalf of some organization that was accused of allowing syphilis to go along unchecked (without treatment) for the sole purpose of curiosity - curiosity of seeing what syphilis could do to a person's body and organs.

Could the government, and not just the healthcare industry, be involved in the fact that so many of us cannot seem to find doctors to treat based on clinical symptoms? You have to wonder with what's going on in other places in this world.

Could we potentially be guinea pigs in the sense that the government is trying to find out how to control other populations with disease?

I suppose it's possible for some other reason than EMF's. I have a degree in computer science and my husband is an electrical engineer. We have both built computers from the ground up and I know enough about what is going on with the programs to say that with fair certainty there is no increase in EMF's in the scenario that you describe here.

I double checked this with my husband and he agrees.

I just don't think we know everything there is to know about EMFs. Also, here's a theory...

Though the computer bothers me in general, it seems to bother me most when my computer is having trouble finding the site or loading the site.

Is it possible that it is pulsing signals, and that pulsed signals are more bothersome than direct ones?

Some researchers say that pulsed currents are dangerous (including the alternating 60hz 'AC' current coming into our homes), whereas direct is safe. I was researching Tesla, and it made sense when I read it, but I don't know enough about electronics to explain it.

The browser looking for a site creates less EMF's than when you are browsing on the internet because there is less activity. The system is idle between the automated requests and there is no data returned. If you are browsing, EMF's are created in response to your commands.

Requests from the browser for data --> waiting for data packets to be returned. Whether you are browsing and surfing or the browser is sending automatic requests for data makes no difference electronically.

I'm not sure if this fits with what you just said, but I know the author of 'Cross Currents' says that lower frequency EMFs are more dangerous than the higher ones. I forget the numbers in hz - something like less than 300 hz, but don't quote me on that. It's in 'Cross Currents'.

This is one reason I'm reluctant to treat my babs with Rife. The settings are in the 20's.

Here's my favorite article on EMFs:

http://www.newmediaexplorer.org/sepp/2006/04/20/mobile_and_wireless_largest_biological_experiment.htm

Here's another:

http://getpurepower.ca/resources/HealthEffectsNFAM.pdf

You have to remember that the studies that show EMFs to be safe checked cells almost immediately after exposure.

The author of 'Cross Currents' agrees these tests are accurate - no damage to cells immediately after exposure, BUT

...had they waited 3 DAYS to check for damage to cells (don't quote me on that - my point is there is a delay, though I don't have the book handy and forget what it was), he says studies show there IS damage done to cells and that these studies have been suppressed from the public.

Further studies are also needed, but obviously nobody wants to fund them because the economy would crash with the findings that cell phones, computers, etc... need to go.

I believe this with all my heart as my Lyme Disease or whatever else I have going on seemed to worsen with the advent of each technological advance.

We need to stop being so trustful here, and demand further proof of safety.

My ex just had a brain tumor removed back in February, and his whole life is computerized pretty much.

The only time I have noticeable ear ringing is when sitting in front of the computer....whether it has anything to do with emfs I have no idea.

The nerves in our eyes and ears are so hypersensitve and irritated, we over-react to changes in light, and sound and temperature. Any external stimulus provokes a different effect in us from what healthy people experience.

I'm not saying anybody is wrong. I just want to throw another explanation that is easy to fix out to tailz for her pain.

If you are not set up ergonomically, then sitting at a computer can cause tightness in your shoulders and neck that can cause all the pain you describe.

When you sit at the computer, your hands should float just above the keyboard. Your wrist should not rest with your hands bent upwards. Your shoulders and neck should be relaxed.

If your wrists are bent upwards or resting on in front of the keyboard, or if you are tensing your shoulders, neck, or jaw, then you need to readjust your work station. It can make a huge difference in pain.

It could also be aggravating anything that might be caused by other sources.

Toni, I agree that alignment has a lot to do with things like this - this is why I saw a chiro a few times, and it DID help. I'm afraid to use all my visits up though.

But I react to EMFs everywhere - not just the computer.

Even light and sound. You can tell when I feel lousiest - my pupils get extra tiny. I used to have big pupils day and night. Even in the dark now, they don't get very big at all. They are the size they used to be in bright sunlight when it is dark now - sometimes even smaller.

My pupils practically disappear altogether now in any sunlight. I look scary when this happens.

Look at any healthy teenager - when they blink, their pupils get really big and as they open their eyelids, you can actually see how big they had gotten, until they slowly adjust to the brighter light.

I mentioned this to my eye doctor, and he said, "Everybody's pupils get tinier as they get older." - even knowing I had Lyme, he said this. Yeah, he's right - because we all have chronic Lyme by the time we're older.

Sound? I actually jump when the floors or the walls crack now. If I hear anything that really is loud and sudden, holy cow do I shake.

Even my ex noticed I tremble when I pick things up. He has more cell phone towers around his house. I keep telling him, but he won't listen. He had a brain tumor removed back in February, too.

Robert Becker though even briefly mentions Lyme in his book, 'Cross Currents'.

If you read all the stuff these frequencies do to our immune systems - key things involving things like the blood-brain barrier and toxins and things like enzymes - you'll realize why spirochetes are able to persist in the body and why so many people with Lyme have trouble ridding toxins and have food allergies.

If organs involved in enzyme production don't get the right 'voltage' due to manmade EMFs, your body deems it an allergen because it can't digest it. What else can it do but warn you it is now dangerous?

Our bodies require the right 'current', just as any car or appliance does. If you give it dirty current long enough, eventually parts are going to go bad, and then it's going to quit.

We need to get out of the mindset here that a chemical is the solution to everything. Chemicals are only part of the equation.

I almost dated a mechanic once. He said that when diagnosing a car, three things needed to be evaluated to determine where the problem was. Fuel, ignition, and spark? Now I'm messing this up. Is ignition spark? lol

I know fuel was only one though. Any mechanics on here?

So though diet and supplements can help Lyme, I believe these EMFs are a much bigger factor than most people would like to believe or even face.

Ignition or spark are every bit as important as the gas you put in a car. In fact, you can put high octane in a car that has no spark, and guess what? It isn't going to run.
