I tested positive for Bartonella on a blood smear, but all lyme tests are negative. Is it possible to have Bartonella and not Lyme? If my response to Zithromycin is good within the first 24 hours, would that be an indication I might be cured?

Yes, my understanding is that it is possible however seronegative lyme is not at all unusual. If you have bartonella, you probably have lyme too.
BTW - you can get bartonella from cats (cat scratch fever) and from fleas as well. In that case you may not have lyme too. Although some here have said that you can get lyme from fleas I've never seen proof of that. Terry
