If your doc says use Doxy as your "background" antibiotic, does that mean take it
all the time while switching the others? I just found notes from my last visit and he had written

I've not heard that said before.. not that I should have .. but before adding anything to what you are taking.. please do call him to clarify the answer.
I don't want to see any harm come to you because the docs instructions weren't clear.

it makes sense to me - Dr. H. once told me that Doxy was the best one for me and they continued to try other ABX while keeping me on Doxy all the time.
For you, I interpret this to mean that your doc wants to keep Doxy working steadily while seeing which other ABX might help you even more.
I did even better when they added Tindamax to my Doxy.
