After 3 years of trying to figure out what is causing my chest stiffness, cough, shakes, tremors, chills, numbness of the extremities, brain fog, anxiety, bone and eye pain, I think I hit the nail on the head with Rifampin, Zith and Plaquenil.

I started 3 weeks ago. I have had two major herxes that I thought was certainly the end for me, but so far the herxes afterwards pale in comparison.

I am noticing them worse every 5 days or so. We'll see how it goes going forward.

The pain in my eyes has been horrible, especially my left eye. It turns so bloodshot and sore. The pain in my spine near one of my discs was excrutiating, and I felt like I had an infection festering in my rib (same spot)

My feet and nodules in my hand do not hurt either.
My lord! Is there really a light at the end of the tunnel?

So, how long did your LLMD keep you on Rifampin? anyone have these kinds of results? I did Avelox and Doxy and had no where near this type of improvement.

Should I be looking at other possible infections that this drug is targeting? I am really wondering about this?

I am considering purchasing Deseret Biologicals Bart remedy to see if that adds to my improvement. Didn't want to do it yet and increase the herx initially, but going forward it should help? (if it's Bart)

Also, FYI, the lemon water and Cowden Burbur saved me during the herxes.

But thank the Lord, I am getting better!!! The sweats are gone, and the tremors have greatly improved !!!! Yippee.

what's your scheduling of meds?

Great news...happy for YOU!

Hi everyone! I've been getting a lot of pm's with questions, so hopefully I can address most of them here.

I am taking:
Rifampin 300 mgs twice daily
Zithromax - 250 mgs twice daily
Plaquenil- 200 mgs twice daily

I take the Rifampin around 9 am and pm with the Plaquenil. The insert says best taken without food, and I don't eat a large breakfast. So far my stomach is fine.

The Zith I take an hour later.

No pulsing.

I am not quite sure about it masking anything because I AM herxing and feel toxic. It's just the herxes are getting milder and milder. I am also getting a much better response from Burbur and Lemon water, so I must be clearing some toxins.

I too am surprised at this quick of an improvement. Perhaps the Cowden protocol I did for nearly 7 months helped me boost my immune system and cleanse. Who knows.
However, I wouldn't suggest doing both at the same time.

I did take Avelox which is the same as Levaquin. No where near the improvement. I am not sure if the avelox is as good as Levaquin though. I also did not take a proton pump inhibitor with the avelox.

The Plaquenil is supposed to increase your PH level thereby making the Rifampin absorb better.
That's the theory anyway. Hey, If I am busting cysts too, added benefit.

Doesn't anyone come back and let people know they got better on Rifampin/Zith/Plaq combos? I thought I had seen some who only did well on this vs. Levaquin?

I know I will never be rid completely of these intracellular bugs, but if I can get the level to liveable, and control with naturals, I will be a happy camper.

Thanks so much for your post!

I AM getting better on Zith & Rifampin...don't know HOW as I've been alternating days (instructed by my LLMD) for the last 4.5 months.

Most people do not seem to pulse but I just trusted my LLMD. Nonetheless, I'm getting better.

Thanks for sharing good news!

Congrats to you both, chia and clarissa! So good to read of someone getting better.

Clarissa, sounds like the alternating days is working good for you. I can see where that would be benficial and easier to tolerate. My hubby could probably benefit from doing that.

Hope you continue to feel better and better!

Thanks, Boomerang. At first, I felt kind of paranoid that I was doing alternating days because the majority of people being treated with Zith & Rifampin are taking it on the SAME day.

I DO have the biotoxin gene (I cannot rid the biotoxins naturally so I must take daily cholestyramine) so maybe that's why my LLMD alternated days to lower toxicity.

In hindsight, I would have interrogated him more after reading all of the posts on Lymenet but I chose to trust him. I guess the proof is, thus far, is that I'm approving.

I'm herxing from my daily Cumanda drops but only when I'm up to 25-30 drops 2X daily.

I've requested to stay on Bart treatment for at least 6 mos. My LLMD was going to pull me off as 2nd Fry came up clean of Bart but I wanted to really pound this thing into the ground...never to rear its ugly head, again.

He agreed, as long as I promised to take 2 baby aspirin a day to avoid blood clots from the Babs I must treat next.

Hopefully, that will be the last of it as I treated Lyme 5-years ago. I'm sure there will be some Lyme clean up as my LLMD believes you cannot cure yourself of Lyme until coinfections are dead, too.

Best to all,

Clarissa, happy to hear you are improving. I am having another bad herx again.

'When you say alterating days, are you skipping a day of meds or alternating the Zith one day and Rifampin the next day?

Thanks.

Aloha,

I've been on Rifampin for almost 4 motnhs now...the first month and a half was hard...

my anxiety and headahes became really intense...I had an increase in spinal and neck pains...a few shooting pains...but it passed without much struggle...

It has been more improvement than pain for me...I put on shoes for the first time in 2 years and went for a walk and walk-jog with my dog- a high moment!

and my head cleared up so much! oh it's been nice, but I'm currently herxing from my increase of zith dose( 750mg to 1000mg), so a little foggy, but it will pass...

I'm able to drive myself to the store and doctors now, and be ok with it..

My babs & Lyme are currently flaring up/herxing...so I'm trying to address that...but I've felt good about my improvemnets with Riampin & Zith...hoping that it will only continue to improve...

I'm currently on...med's wise...

Riampin- 600mg at 5 am on empty stomach
Zith- 500 mg 2x/d
Tindazole-500mg 2x/d
Alinia- 1000mg 2x/d
IM Bicillin L.A.- 1.2 2x /w

much love!
Hugs to ALL!
smiles!
Fawne
