Hi all, I do not have an appt. with Dr. C. until August 5th. For those of you who have had experience with him, do you know if he would be willing to run the labs with Igeneix, before my appointment. I do have someone locally that can draw them for me. I just feel it would be advantageous to have all of that before I even went...but not sure if this is something he would do or not. Thanks.

We are taking my daughter to see Dr C on Monday. I tried and tried to get her Pediatrician to run the test. Not treat her...just to pull the blood. They told me no because congenital lyme doesn't really exist. And if for some reason she did have it than the CDC would be at my door for a front page story (very rude). By the way she has tested positive and we plan to let them know.
Back to your question- I ended up getting my local LLMD to run the test and we are taking the test result with us to the appointment. I don't know where you can start to get the blood pulled. The lab I went to was so familiar with Dr. W and Igenex that they didn't even ask to see his request.
You might want to call around to the different labs. I heard somewhere that you can pay a fee of $40 dollars to the lab and they will pull the blood. That is just rumor though so please call first.
Also, if you have the Igenx paper work all filled out with Dr. C's name/address as the doctor and look really confident in yourself they may do it for you. I don't know, good luck. I know how frustrating that is. You want to be fully prepared for your appointment to have the largest chance to benefit. Good luck!

Call Igenex in Palo Alto. They will send you a kit. You want the IgM and IgG western blot for Lyme.
Have the blood drawn locally. They give you a package mailer for DHL. It's prepaid.
Cost is about $198. Doctor C will charge you $60 more for the same test.

Lymetoo you are correct. I actually already contacted Igenex to see if a dr.s request/signature was required, and they said yes.

If I remember correctly, I called Igenex and prepaid for the kit. Then I took the forms/kit to my local pcp who has also been cooperating with me and my out of state LLMD. She signed for the test, and my local lab did the blood draw and spun the tubes. We packaged the tubes in the packaging provided and used the DHL mailer, and I went to my nearest DHL. The tests have to be run Mon-Weds so the samples are received before the weekend.
The test results were sent to both my PCP and my LLMD per my request.
Good luck. CherylSue
