H All,

Can someone please give me a sense of how the babesia symptoms are ?

I have tingling sensation all over the body and sometimes pins & needles kind of sensation, muscle spasms etc.

I aam already tested postive for Lyme and babesia
from IGENEX labs.

I would like to know what the babs symptoms are sothat after the medication I can check if teh symptoms are gone.

Appreciate your help

Thanks

Hi, my worst symptom was not being able to get a full breath in. I learned they call this air hunger.

I have been on Mepron for a couple of months now and that symptom is much better.

The other difference I notice is that a pain in my upper chest (where the ribs meet) is gone.

I am pretty sure that was Babesia. Hope you get improvement.

Go to Dr. Joseph J. Burrascano's Treatment Guidelines in the Newby links and scroll down to Babesia.

The following signs/symptoms may be present in those infected with Babesiosis:
Fatigue
Arthralgias
Myalgia
Drenching sweats
Headaches
Emotional lability
Depression
Dark urine
Splenomegaly
Dizziness
Nausea and vomiting
Cough
Dyspnea
Fever
Chills
Hepatosplenomegaly
Jaundice
Malaise
Shortness of breath
Bleeding tendencies, bruising
Thrombocytopenia
Hemoglobinuria
Hyperesthesia
Pulmonary edema
Encephalopathy
Low to normal range leukocyte counts
Possible elevated levels of dehydrogenase, bilirubin,
transaminase*
Anorexia

Approximately 25%- 66% of Babesia patients are known to be co-infected with Lyme disease. These symptoms may continue for long periods of time, decrease, then return.

A low Babesiosis titer (IgG) often indicates a chronic infection.
An acute or current infection may show a higher reading on the IgM test initially.

There are over 100 species of Babesia in the United States but only ONE or TWO species are currently checked by commercial labs.
