I know a lot of you have said you have these same symptoms, but I am really freaking out again.
I keep getting the sensation that my brain and/or
heart is just going to stop...especially at night.
I woke up from a sound sleep tonight because I felt
like everything just "turned off". I've been
getting a lot of "tremors" almost like shivers
throughout my body, but especially my chest.
When those act up, it seems to trigger this awful
feeling. I've had the chills off and on too.
I've been on amoxy - 2-3 grams per day, clarithromyacin and artemesinin
I've been on this protocol for months and nothing
has subsided.
Could I still really be herxing? I'm worried that
it's not working and the Lymies are running
rampant and wreaking havoc in my brain/body.
My Dr. tested my amoxy levels a few times and said
it was not at the threshold he wanted to see it
at. But because of my symptoms he did not up my
dose.
Sorry for the long post... freaking out though..

pammy,
sure sounds like you are herxing and that's where the spirochete are BEING KILLED OFF; and that's what we all want treatment to do.
you're going to hit bottom when herxing when it continues to kill off these suckers in our entire bodies.
do you have asthma or respiratory problems? i'd use asthma INHALER to help during these times.
been a long time since i've herxed, etc. and i can't remember details well since i've had chronic lyme 38.5 years!!
at least this takes it up for others to come by and reply with how they are coping techniques!
best wishes. get up, watch a comedy to relax yourself and tickle your funny bone!

Do you have any scullcap tincture or magnesium (& calcium). Vitamin B-6, too will help calm the overwhelmed nervous system, especially tremors.
Is your blood sugar low? that can cause tremors or shivering, too. But if you eat any carbs, be sure to add a little healthy oil at this time of night.
Are you taking milk thistle or other liver support. Artemesinin makes me shiver, too. Liver support and those things I listed above really helped me.
Normally, a big glass of water is not great right before bed, but it may help with getting out some toxins.
Try to get warm with a cup of decaf herbal tea . . . maybe listen to some soothing music - and I hope you have a good night's sleep and tomorrow will be better.
