For sleep, sometimes it works for me, sometimes it doesn't. Adding some Valerian root helps.

I'm actually not taking it for sleep, but I'm glad it's helped the two of you with that!
I'm taking it for a "serotonin deficiency". I guess my body is "showing signs of a lack of serotonin". For example, I have no peristaltic action in my intestines (they don't move), I have shortness of breath, neck tightness (in the front), profound fatigue, lethargy...and apparently these are all signs of a "serotonin deficiency"?
Has 5-HTP helped anyone with this sort of thing?
