Yes to both questios. had Dye study done last thursday.
Had appointment for this wednesday with the surgeon but they called and said it had to come out asap.

Did they try tpa Activase� (Alteplase) to see if the clot or fibrin sheeth would disolve first before removing the port?
Again, sorry that you are having problems and I hope that your surgery goes well.

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your port.
Is the clot under/around the port, or inside the port?
We had port troubles in early August, and it's still causing pain, although the dye study was normal.
I wonder if there could be a clot under it?
The home health nurse shoved the needle in so hard to try to make it flat against the skin that it bent into a 3-4 mm little fish hook. Only the beveled part of the needle bent.
When it was deaccessed the hook tore through the port's diaphragm, but didn't damage it...at least not according to the dye study. It was healing fine before that. Now it's causing 24/7 pain like it's sitting on a nerve & on a bone.
It's sitting cock-eyed and also hurts while lying down...(lying on your side).
The force required to yank the needle out of the port kind of made it move out of place, but it looks good on x-ray. There's no logical explanation of why it's still causing daily pain.
