This is a bit on the embarrassing side, but I have to ask... Anyone have anything like this?
I have been off abx for a 6 - 8 weeks after a frightening experience with Rifampin. A laundry list of symptoms have returned, most of them are familiar, but I'm also having a new one: strange sweats.
These are not the drenching sweats I used to have, or even a noticeable "sweat" - it is more like a gradual, building sheen.
Within hours of showering, I feel covered by a sticky sweat. It is uncomfortable, and almost itchy. Makes me want to live in the shower.
What is this? Any particular co-infection (I've had them all), or is it a detox problem?
Thanks, cactus

I wonder if it could be a liver and or detox problem. Are you taking chlorella at all? I wonder if a binder like clay would help with this or activated charcoal?

I was going to ask this too. I didn't start sweating until I got on i.v. Rocephin. I figured maybe it brought on the Bart in me.
It happens a lot, especially in the late afternoon and even in the night.
The back of my head/hair line is always soaked and sweaty.
I was going to ask what this is...and why it does it. I also have a TON of hair loss. I'm only 27! Thank God I have such thick hair...but I don't know how much it can take. I swear I lose about 60 hairs, just getting out of the bath. And there's about 10 in the bathtub when I get out.
WHY???? Is there anyone that I should see about this? I've always been afraid of it because those are signs of Lymphoma....but already had a biopsy for that...but I just can't get it out of my mind!
I hope their are some good answers for you. I'll be watching this thread. What makes us sweat and lose hair? Immune system problems?

Loss of hair can be thyroid issues or lack of iodine.

From Dr. Singleton's book "The Lyme Disease Solution," one symptom of Bartonella is,
"Sweats, often morning or late afternoon (sometimes at night)-often described as 'thick' or 'sticky' in nature."
Sounds exactly like what you are describing to me!!! (note use of the word STICKY) So I guess my advice would be address the Bartonella as best you can?
Good luck!

Thanks, Angelica and hope.
I'm not on anything for detox, but will stop at the store this evening and pick something up. I wonder if that might help you, too, hope?
Not sure about the hair loss - that issue cleared up for me after babs treatment. Dealing with little fuzzy hairs growing back now!
Your posts (both combined) did remind me that sweating in the past has been a sign of autonomic dysfunction for me - and the POTS has been acting up lately - maybe it's that?
Is there a difference between babs sweats and bart sweats? Any way to tell the two apart?

Hey hoos! We have great timing, huh?! Posted at the same time.
Yep, thick and sticky sums it up. Gross.
You answered that question - thanks!

I used to feel like my skin had a film on it. Not exactly sweat, just a sticky feeling. On my face mostly. I never figured out what caused it - the TBD's, or detoxing from them.
I have no idea why it went away, but it may have been related to detoxing with chlorella.
When I still had Babesia, I had regular sweats, not sticky sweats.
Best, P
