Can someone tell me what the test is for babesia?

I would like to get tested for it, I have no doctor that believes in it.

So I need to figure this out myself I guess.

Is it a blood, mucous,or what test?

Thanks

Don't believe in it? They need to be slapped!
I am sorry, I am not a violent person, but Lyme has made me an angry person with bottled up rage aimed at these ignorant, closed minded idiot doctors. I HOPE one never says that to me. That is like saying, I don't believe the world is round!

Check IGENEX for info. My Babesia FISH tests and one other test all came back positive.

What are the best treatments to remove the toxins along with antibiotics. I can't manage to consistently take the antibiotics, the pain is unbearable.

Also, has anyone had any problems taking SSRI's? I took about 20 pills throughout a 1 1/2 month period prior to being diagnosed. The SSRI initiated all my symptoms and then I was diagnosed with Lyme's. I really dont know if I had an toxicity caused by the SSRI or Lyme's disease. Any thoughts?

I too had my LD initiated by SSRI's. You are the first person I have heard from that had this also happen to them. I thought it was a reaction to them, but when I stopped them I didn't get any better; so then I thought it was just a coincidence.

I think maybe it was really just the stress I was under that initiated the Lyme, since many ppl seem to get it around stressful times. Who knows, this illness is soooo weird.

Oh well, I am finally getting better by treating the Babesia, so obviously it all started with a tick.

I am looking for ways to detox while in ABX too and I am in so much pain and have so much HERX from while in ABX treatement that I can not stay the course. Getting my doc to go every other week and that even is too much to bear.. I try supplements meant to help detox but I herx more so the only way for me is to take time off from them and to detox during that time with theraputic baths or just nothing.. Just nothing and time for my body to take a breath and try to work it out.
I have not found methods to detox enough during ABX treatment to really get through it.
Only thing that has helped some.. not enough. is Vitamin C and Cholestymine which I down in the middle of the night when i am not on the ABX because the Cholestyrmine can stop the abosrbtion of the meds so i do not take it at the same time.
But that does not do enough.> Just takees the edge off.
So I am taking the holdiays off from meds so I can actually do something...

May I ask, what was your treatment for Babesia? Thanks.
