My LMD tested me again in his office. This time we found a fungus. Said the steroids probably brought my immune system down enough that this fungus was able to pop up. We treated that and now hopefully the vertigo will go down.
Now he put me on ginger oil (in capsules) to help with the vertigo. He said to look into other homeopathic meds for vertigo as well. Anyone have any good suggestions?

Nancy, I do have a suggestion, I hope it is helpful: please ask for more specific information. It's unfortunate, but I've heard some medical professionals say these terms when describing mycoplasmic bacteria (or mycobacteria):
viruses fungus bugs
If that's not enough, mycobacteria are also called:
mycoplasma cell wall deficient bacteria L forms
And there are more too...but you get my drift! Please get copies of ALL your test results, read them carefully, and save them for future reference. And by all means, ask your doc questions!
So, that said, I wonder if your doc meant a yeast, like Candida?

For fungals I would suggest trying a homeopathic doctor or a naturopath, or someone with experience using the Sanum homeopathic products.
Several people on this board are having good success with homeopathics from Sanum for fungus. I have found them to be powerful, without side effects, drug interactions, or raising liver enzymes.
That is if you are interested in that kind of medicine, because I know it doesn't appeal to everybody.

2mg of Valium twice a day is a standard treatment for Meniere's (tinnitus of unknown cause) and really combats the dizzies and vertigo. Shuts off the middle ear and helps you rebalance. God bless the neuro who put me on it some years ago. Got me off the couch and back among the living.
Just food for thought. But if you Google it, I'm sure it will come up.

outstanding advise above!! GET SPECIFIC NAME OF THIS and copies of everything.
you mentioned fungus; brought back dad's BLASTOMYCOSIS, fungus from animals. last year tincup was doing research and had over 100 names she needed info on. BLASTO.. was shown so i looked it up and send her a summary.
bottom line it was another SECONDARY infection to lyme/co-infections IF my memory serves me right!

Anti fungal herbs will help : oil of oregano , olive leaf extract , and golden seal . I know people who have seen these really make a difference .
I would take 2 capsules of OL and Goldenseal TWICE a day for a while. Sometimes these infections can be YEAST related . Cat's claw will also probably help .
