I have been so sick and now freaking out.
It started with a cold, just about the time I started flagyl, and escalated to throat/chest pain/heart skips/shortness of breath.
At any rate, after doing flagyl, then pennicillin vk tabs (3000 mg day), I did not get better.
AFter normal xrays, normal ekg, no strep, normal blood work....my llmd told me to get off all abx and start diflucan right away.
I have anxiety because I don't know if it is really yeast, although I suspect it, or a coinfection or lyme which is coming out from the flagyl cycst buster. If it is yeast, should I expect getting worse before getting better?
how long should I give it? I just can't calm my self down. I felt some relief after my first dose of diflucan, and now I am not as well. I am soo scared. I never had this before...could it really be yeast? I see my llmd in 2 weeks, I do trust him, as he has seen lymies from all over the world for 15 years.

I've seen herx like posts from many when taking difu (sp). You need to understand that none of these toxins whether it's lyme, co's, yeast, metals, etc leave our bodies without putting up a fight.

Being toxic is hard mentally, emotionally and physcially. Releasing/detoxing is also hard on the body. Sometimes detoxing to quickly does more harm than good.

You major organs, liver, kidneys, bladder, skin can only take so much stress before they start shouting for relief.

Slow down. Patience my dear, patience. It's a process and a very slow process at that.

Pam

Hey Jenny, i dont answers to your questions per say, but i just want to send you encouragment. Something that tends to help my body as a whole is a massage, ion foot bath, or a hot epsion salt bath. i know i know that has nothing to do with yeast, but each of them are relaxing and could sooth you anxiety...............

Flagyl and Diflucan can both be very tough drugs. [Frown]

There is a doctor in Germany who actually uses Diflucan to treat Lyme, the theory being it has activity against the beasties' flagelum.

I have taken it several times to de-yeast and have always felt an increase in my nerve symptoms for a few days. Then things sort of quiet down.

Also, you can have a die-off reaction when killing yeast, which will make you feel sicker.

I've not felt anything from Flagyl except stomach pain. But, when I've stopped taking it, and start on Diflucan, that's when I've gotten temporarily sicker.

It is very hard when the symptoms include anxiety. Try to stay warm and calm, but tell your doctor if it doesn't get better before too long or if it's really intolerable.

Hi there...try to calm down..these things take time to treat, it doesn't mean your going to die! Believe me, yeast and Lyme and co0infections can all be treated and you can get healthy again, just try not to let fear take control. Don't expect rapid results...these things take time, keep fighting and you will get better. Read more about these things and arm yourself with information, its the key to getting well.

Hang in there! I don't have to tell you this is hard, but, you will get better at some point.

I wish non of us had to deal with any of this affliction! But there is an end to it someday. Hang your hat on that.

Thank you guys. I guess I am not sure of what I have. I mean, I have boils on my tongue and it is whitish. I guess I am concerned that I am being treated for yeast when I don't have it, and it is something else, becuase I did not go to my doc and these quacks are just quacks. I have had constant chest pain, throat pain for 2 weeks now. can it be really be yeast? that is why I can't calm down.

The episodes of chest pain that I've had previously lasted for a few weeks too before they subsided. Maybe things will settle down soon. Hang in there.

A white tongue is a sign of yeast. Is your saliva thick & sticky?

Are you taking Diflucan every day? How long have you been taking it?

Yeast die-off can feel like a herx.

I have clear mucus, my saliva is not sticky.
I went to the doc tonight, a quack. I wanted him to take a culture for staph infection, and I have an appointment with the ENT next week. My doc put me on diflucan, I began yesterday, and I felt better for one day, then felt worse. IS that how it is supposed to work. I really think I have something else. I have a gut feeling I am sick with something else , this pain is non stop, and lyme symptoms usually come and go. I can't figure out, why when I took the pennicillin vk tabs, I felt better for 4 days, then relapsed? that means I have a bacterial infection which needs a stronger abx. But then again, I have clear mucus, not colored, and no fever. I am freaking out, can't sleep, can't think.

It takes awhile for the Diflucan to kill the yeast. I don't think you can tell in one day. I've never been able to tell a difference in any med in 1 day.

You said you took penicillin vk tabs for 4 days and then relapsed. I think it's more likely that you herxed then relapsed. I almost always herx on day 4 of a new antibiotic.
