Hello,

I'm starting Biaxen and Plaquenil as a combo and was looking for people who have taken either of the drugs or the combo.

What was your expericence in terms of side effects and success in treatment of your symptoms?

Thanks for your input!

Hi,
If you do a search we have a support thread already going for this combo. I will tell you I have been on many combo's and this is the worst I have been on.

You will feel like you have been hit by a truck. When you do I suggest backing off for a few days. Also buy epsom salts and take hot baths. Drink lots of water. Good quality probiotics and no sugar or caffiene.

Good luck!
Ann

Heh Joe,

I take these with mino or doxy. It has helped a lot with energy and my brain is clearer, but I still have no memory

i'm going on in 9 days-i rotate it with clind and quinine for babs...or is the bi-plaq only for lyme??? i'm not sure. i'm doing what dr c says

i will look for the other thread.

joe-i would try to go in with an open-positive mind. different combos are different with different ppl. so many variables: strains, coinfecs, genes...

i was scared of quinine for years and it isn't bothering me at all

i have a friend who ends up in bed for a week when he uses epsom salts...i love them

we're all so different...and so are the bugs

I was on this combo for about 10 days. My stomach could not tolerate either drug so I had to go on a break from all antibiotics to allow my stomach to heal.

Dear Joe,
Ive been on plaquenil for almost eight weeks with azythromycin, mepron and rocephin, its another cyst buster, but as mentioned, everyone is different, flagyl and tindimax can be tolerated by some and rough for others, as can plaquenil, altghough I hear it czuses fewer symptoms. I have no worries with it, but it can affect the eyes, getting an exam tomorrow, theres always good info in the PDR on most of these meds, important to do research and post all of your concerns with us, and by the way if A DR. ever suggests a spinal tap, don't have one.

Biaxin has a bad taste, but you get used to it after a while and don't even notice it. It was bad enough that it would wake me up at night.

Just curious if you guys had troubles getting solid sleeps on Biaxin/Plaquenil.

Not to sidetrack the thread but I just started Bicillin/Biaxin/Plaquenil and I can't stop dreaming all night!

I also have vivid dreams on Biaxin/Plaquenil. I stopped taking them due to the GI issues I was having but I didn't miss the bizarre dreams and funny taste in my mouth.

well...i'm curious about what dosage you guys are on...

i took biaxin in the past and hated the taste but did it-salt and vinigar chips helped a little. this time i am taking a lower dose and i don't get the taste at that dose

i think vivid dreams may be a herx from any abx...also a sx...i know lymies who are untreated and they say that is a sx

ditto on NO SPINAL TAPS-big pain for NO helpful info...
