I had an MRI which showed white brain matter involvement and something that looks like fatty deposits in the cerebral area. I haven't seen a Neurologist yet. Any info on this????????? Eileen

What type of doctor ordered the MRI, and what were they looking for? (The reason for the test is usually written on the order.)
Do you have a Lyme diagnosis?
I have several non-specific white matter lesions on my brain MRI, consistent with several etiologies but given my response to abx I'm pretty sure Lyme was to blame!
Lyme can cause brain lesions. I don't know much about the fatty deposits, hopefully some one else can offer you advice.

Hello! Before I knew I had LD, my mri showed scattered white brain matter. I dont recall anything about the fatty deposits. My neuro first thought MS but the lesions were not MS related. They them said it was migraine related. I never had what I thought was a migraine. Just sharp pains through my head a dull but constant nagging headache.
Are you being treated for LD yet?

I also have funny stuff on my MRI. I have 12 "high signal intensity white matter lesions". The nuero said it wasn't in the typical place for MS - and I believe it's due to my Lyme.
I get SEVERE headaches as well - and my nuero told me that migraines can cause these types of lesions.
My advice - run far away from the nuero. I had a horrible experience with one - and unless you have a tumor or stroke out on the table, they really won't do anything for you (I'm bitter.. can u tell haha)
I would say your MRI findings are because of the Lyme.
