Hi..I want to know how do you all cope with very

severe fatigue? I won't start getting any kind

of treatment until I get more testing and go to

LLMD in a couple of weeks. This is really

bothering me, seems like I can take a nap and

still wake up tired, and always get about 10 or

more hours of sleep per day. When I am awake, I

feel like I am in a fogged state of mind, and

groggy. I want to know with treatment, will this

clear up? Thanks! Fran

I had this very severly for years! Was couch ridden, as I called it. Lost my real estate license during this time.

I have been treating for about 8 months. This is the one symptom that has improved. I can't complain about that! Though now that I can do more things the arthritis pain is coming out.

I do take several supplements, vitamins, and detox. That might help you also.

Make sure you are tested for viruses too. EBV (the one that causes mono) can come out while your immune system is down. This will make you tired all the time. That is what I think my problem was. Olive Leaf Extract is good for that.

Best of luck! Amy

Fatigue plays a big role in this illness. Until you see your LLMD and really know what you are dealing with, including co infections, viruses such as epstein barr, cytomegalo, mycoplasma, different types of herpes infections, etc.

it will be hard to really give advice. With treatment many people see an improvement with fatigue.

Proper diet is important and that is something you can start now. No junk food. A a low carb high protein diet works best for most, especially if you will be on ABX it's critical in order to avoid systemic candida, which you may already have, no processed foods, juice, excessive coffee, sugar (that means cake, ice cream, etc.) starchy foods basically an adkins type diet.

You will actually feel more energy eating that way. Organic is best if you can swing it or make the best choices where you can.

Also vitamin supplementation will help. Magnesium is very important, B complex and sublingual B12 will help with fatigue (IM shots work best) a good quality multi and so many more lyme specific nutrients that are too numerous and overwhelming to mention now.

When you see your LLMD and start treatment you will learn lots more about the supplements that will help you but for now you might want to take a good B complex and subligual B12 and magnesium.

Thanks for replies..yes I did start taking some

vitamins..that was recommended to me, the B

Complex and magnesium, I threw in Fish oil too,

since it seems to be healthy too. I do struggle

with my diet, seems that I crave the sugar, and

also love my coffee, but the most I may have is

about 2 cups in morning..junk food is going to

be very hard for me to stop..its the only thing

I have left to enjoy! I will keep this in mind

though, and try and cut back. I am just dragging

myself through the day right now. I am about

ready to colapse right now, so I will have to

log off. I am sick of this crap already! Hoping

the vitamins will kick in too...feeling

frustrated! Thanks again, Fran

Fran it will get better. The B12 injections really

help me for the symptoms. I hate meds. I hate

shots. But the results are the pie.

Hi Pinelady. Where can I get B12 injections?

Does my Dr. have to prescribe that? I will do

anything to get my energy back again. Nothing

is getting done around my house, like I want to.

I was usually very good at keeping up, but it has

become such a chore for me! Among just enjoying

life period! Thanks for the info everyone!

My LLMD prescribed it. It is wonderful help. And really inexpensive for as much as they help. Cyanocobalam 1000mcg. 1 ml. IM. You can use the insuling syg. but has to be longer needle for IM sadly.

IM magnesium shots really help, too. They really help relax your muscles so you don't feel so tired, plus we need magnesium so desperately.

I take B complex, B12 and Mag sulfate in one shot in addition to my oral B and magnesium pills.

I have taken every supplement and the injections.

My major complaint to ANY doctor is always Fatigue. I always list it first.

I have not found any way to get rid of the fatigue. I have been in treatment for 8 months.

I have been on treatment for 4 1/2 years and am still exhausted!!! I was recently diagnosed with EBV which is probably part of my problem. I also think low Vit D, low Vit B, low thyroid, and low cortisol play a role. I feel like I'm crawling through life.

Well, let's see. I pray and then kick my carcass out of bed and slog through the day. It's like walking around with a sixty pound pack on... OK, maybe a 50 pound pack. Don't have much of a choice so I just make it happen. I figure it's making me stronger. Did I mention the prayer? [Smile]
