Please help me? I am having grave misgivings about my care. I have photos of BOTH ticks while still embedded. Can anyone please tell me what to do next?

All I got was 100mg Doxy each AM and PM. Then a reluctant increase to 200 each AM and PM. STill, I think I should be on Amoxicillin. Based on ILADS guidelines.

I must admit though, that the reason I'm up typing at 3AM is the Killer Heart Burn from taking 200mg Doxy at once. I thought I heard some say they'd taken much more than 200 at a crack. My word. How?

Also, Click here to see a pic of it.

Hi LymeLearned,

I am sorry you were bitten.

I don't know if the Doxy you are taking is enough. There are lots of people on here that know so much more than I do and they will be along to help I am sure.

Do you have other symptoms or did you develop a rash? If you have the rash it would be a good idea to take a picture of it. I saw your photo of the embedded tick and it made my skin crawl. I think you were very smart to have taken that picture for evidence.

It might be a good idea to start looking around for an LLMD in case you need one. As I am sure you know ticks can infect us with more than just Lyme and even if the Doxy you take helps with the Lyme it may not help with a co-infection.

Best of luck to you.

I agree with Leelee. I might also apply heat since the bugs don't like it hot and antibiotic ointment.

I sent you a private message telling you how my lyme doc treated a bite one week after the bite.

Hope this helps.

Take the doxy with food every time to avoid that heartburn. But, you can't take doxy with dairy.

Thank you so much! MILK! I don't drink or smoke but I LOVE my milk! This has been hard...but I'm more determined to do whatever is necessary. Got switched to Zithromax 250 one QD for 14 more days. Then it stops. Thinking about how to proceed from there. I'm off to take new bite pics. Right foot bite feels hyper sensitive to touch/pain if I brush it while putting on socks. SOMETHING is up. I just don't know what.

I may be taking a "hecka long" drive to see a doctor who gives a hoot and has a clue. MUCH GRATITUDE for all and any help.

I am VERY appreciate of your wisdom and insights here.

Will check back tonight.

Thank*You!!!

If you're not on doxy you won't kill out possible ehrlichiosis. Erhlichiosis is deadly and must be addressed with every new bite.

Have you made progress with your search for an LLMD??
