It may indicate parasites of some kind...perhaps babesia. I'm not sure if lyme does this...

Do you have allergies? Hay fever? etc....

Yes, mine have been elevated off and on for several years. Mine seem to follow my treatment for parasites (worms, not babesia). We are pulsing meds now and it has been consistently normal over the past few months.

Elevated EOS can be related to allergies and other things too. Allergies are common in lyme.

Thanks to everyone for their input. This question is for my brother who has been suffering for years with symptoms that no one has been able to explain. One of these happens to be a high Eosinophil count that has been elevated since approx. 2003. Not constant, but is higher at some times and lower at others, but usually if not always elevated. He has been treated for parasites, but doesn't suffer any of the other symptoms that come with that diagnosis. I was curious if a high Eosinophil count was found in others with Lyme disease. Even though a few doctors have pointed out that his levels were high, no one has been able to explain why and most are very cavalier about it. He has not received an explanation as to why they are elevated or how to treat it.

When we talk about elevated eosinophils, how elevated are we talking?

I am slightly above range. like maybe 3 to 5 points above normal. How high are you all talking about?

Is he seeing a Lyme Literate MD? They will check for lyme and other tick infections. You can get a lot more from ticks besides Lyme, and one of the diseases in particular could raise those counts (Babesea, its a blood parasite). Sometimes, its difficult to get rid of parasites, and you have to re-treat or go for longer treatment periods.

Has he seen an immunologist? They would be able to determine if there isn't something immune related
