hi, I no longer have lyme but do have nerve damage. Including one optic nerve and heart problems stemming from nerve damage.
I'm supposed to go on Iodoquinol treatment for Dientamoeba fragilis (intestinal amoeba) for 20 days 650mg x 3 per day.
I've read that people with optic nerve pathologies should be very careful with Iodoquinol. I may not have a pathology there per se, but do have damage.
Anyone else with sometimes blurry vision been on Iodoquinol ? Or is there a pharmacist in the house? Is this safe to take? OR if *maybe* - *maybe not* safe... then what would I watch out for in order to stop before getting further nerve damage? Any warning signs before going blind? A google search doesn't give much detail. Are 20 days "long term" for this drug?
The doc rxing this is not an LLMD. I can't afford my LLMD for a little while, but would like to deal with the D. fragilis. And I'm not sure my LLMD would know for sure either...

I've taken it twice in combo with different drugs for 28 days each time without any side effects, but I didn't have any eye damage to be concerned aout AFAIK. It was a very mild drug IME.

Hi caat! I've been doing good for the last two years.......just going for 100%. I don't post much anymore...only now and then when important things come up that I believe will significantly help others.
